Favorite doctor moment so far - staff on the unit asked “is it Dr. Gildeeuh or Dr. Gildayuh?” Me: “It’s Daniel” 😁 Love the camaraderie and teamwork inherent in medicine, especially in the ICU!

Pharmacy called me today bc we were giving a Covid patient ivermectin (for prophylaxis against strongyloides after giving tocilizumab bc of Il-6 inhibition). Couldn’t resist a few seconds of “yeah it works right?” before explaining 🤪

1st day of ICU and already had a COVID+ patient intubated this AM - unvaxed and taking ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine since symptoms started ~2 weeks ago. The impact of the misinformation really hits home when you’re the one treating + talking to family

Trying to convince patients who never get the flu shot to get one this year often feels futile, but it’s so rewarding when one says yes! Keep it up friends + colleagues 🤝

@CSamuelMD In my experience, interviews were very relaxed (much more so than medical school)! You’ve done all the hard parts, now it’s just about learning programs and finding a fit. Good luck!!

Dr. Webb (MD and JD) was one of the best med school profs I’ve had; wonderful guy and very smart! Learned so much about the healthcare system from him. Great to see him doing big things and I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more from him in the future!

@oneunderscore__ Doctor here (albeit a new one)! Something I don’t think getting enough messaging is that a study from June 2021 showed 96% (+ counting) docs are vaccinated… can’t get much of a bigger endorsement than that!

I’ve been an intern for ~5 weeks and have already had multiple older female patients w/ recurrent UTIs who ask for advice on prevention. This is #HighYield
I don’t want to give all of my secrets away but …nightly vaginal estrogen is close to a miracle for recurrent UTIs

A patient who’s been admitted for exactly as long as I’ve been a resident has been ready to discharge to SNF for almost the past week, held up by insurance auth. Props to case managers for not turning into the Joker despite dealing with this 24/7
