@TheBishF1 @Motor_Sport As a kid I used to frequent his 'nightclub' (late night bar where warring farmers would go to drink and fight), sat above said garage in Brough, aptly named the Grand Prix Club. From memory it was good sons on the door. If you survived the night, took his bus home to Appleby.

@bog_ps @crimlawuk 'Offered'? Tell me how a prisoner serving a few weeks in an open prison is going to be taught to read and write and cured of their drug addiction? Pro rata £50k a year housing a prisoner, preventing them from getting the help they need. Attitudes like yours are a problem.

@nuggetofgreen @jburnmurdoch Equally, anyone could suffer an episode and have no medical evidence afterwards. If that's not accepted as evidence people may be convicted or given harsher sentences than warranted. Either way, she was given a prison sentence and disqualified for a year, so did not get off.

@Scunnert2 Don't have an iron in the fire either way. From the outside looking in I think Linehan has become obsessed with the subject and lost objectivity. Equally, I think he's been attacked pretty consistently. No winners and none in the right.

@afneil She was forced to leave a high-paying position without having commited an offence warranting dismissal. Of course they had to pay her.

@HPP7Strat2 It's a mismatch. The cars are cumbersome on slow corners and need high speed to shine. I think Baku provides entertainment, but the others can go in the bin. A shame that tracks like Turkey and Hockenheim can't get a look in whilst they have Micky mouse Miami etc.

@jjh_1993 @AdamWagner1 Other than remaining silent on the point, they can hardly defame their employee by suggesting he may be guilty.

@BarristerSecret Always the way in these cases. Not suggesting it likely, but if Letby successfully appeals conviction, will those people calling for her death change their minds? If not, why not?
