Never underestimate the impact of a kind word or well wishes toward folks having a rough time. Sometimes, it is the only buoy. It takes little time or effort but is a powerful gift of heart.

No prof could tell me when and where poc women wrote in Italian, so I showed up with an annotated bibliography proving that we do. Wrote the damned thing in 6 months and got the hell out of there.
