Problems swallowing? Talk to you doctor before it gets worse. Midnight in an ER is a bad time & place to meet your gastroenterologist.

Antibiotics often cause diarrhea, sometimes severe. Worth it if you really need the antibiotics. But make sure you REALLY need them 1st.

When used for the right reasons, under the care of your doctor, Proton Pump Inhibitors can be used safely for decades!

People can develop "resistance" to medications like Zantac or Pepcid when used daily. Need them every day? Change to Prilosec, Nexium, etc.

If you have heartburn less than 3 x per week, you can use as needed medications like Gaviscon or Zantac.

Proton pump inhibitors (Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid, etc.) work best when taken EVERY day, and not just when you have heartburn.

Dysphagia: difficulty swallowing. If you are under 40 and feel food stick when you swallow, u may have Eosinophilic Esophagitis. C ur doc!

If you have a stomach bug, avoid sports drinks. Too much sugar and sodium. Can actually make diarrhea worse. Start with water.
