@CricketRef @Saptarshi713 Yes .. the one at the Oval 🤦🏽♀️ I hope Jos plays till that one ( not as captain) so I can watch him play live one last time in Eng colours 😅

Playing Jos as low down as 5 in subcontinent pitches for the CT would be suicidal again … just open with him .. in both formats

@Saptarshi713 @CricketRef The latter .. he can still attack in an ODI tempo if he opens & possibly play the long game as has good strike rotation skills in middle overs .. Eng are making a huge mistake by not batting him higher up .. I have been saying this for a long time and am fed up now

Root needs a partner to rotate .. we can easily see their partnership is the only one which lucidly can play low risk shots through the middle overs .. anyways this is what I feel they should do .. what they would do is obviously different and evidently not the right way to go as results are showing

@janiruddha12 Quite a lot .. Eng play some 46 ODIs till WC 27 I think .. there is no ‘role within role’ .. he looks their most assured strike rotator in middle overs now .. he either opens for me or bats at 4 .. simple

@janiruddha12 I am sick and tired of reiterating this ..
@Ash_Lamps_007 @tds122 He isn’t that same player anymore.. has been an opener for a long time used to PP field .. so either opens or plays a long holding role at 4 which he can very well do .. but can’t bat as a finisher against an old ball with field spread .. he will be of no use doing that anymore

@janiruddha12 Used to see 5 years back .. white ball opener now .. can’t bat lower than 4 at all

@Peeku127 There is no way of knowing .. sometimes the ball hoops around under the lights too .. when he chose to bowl first in Mumbai vs SA all hell broke loose .. people on here and in press have been very critical of his preference to chase
