@andreaskardio That´s the point: at 88 you dont need blood pressure of 120/80. You dont preventice cardiovasc. meds that is for a 50 yr-old. Symptomatic therapy! then you can probably reduce number of tablets per day significantly.

@andreaskardio As said, I think we need to face these critical discussions about what is needed at the final stage of life. Particularly as our patients get older and older. Do we need preventive therapies with an effect in (?) 10 years in nonagenarians?

@Altassistent I increasingly see geriatric patients in really frail condition. I ask myself if they really benefit from preventive treatment at the final steps of life. One the other hand, such pts. often taken dozens of meds, some necessary for e.g. pain.

@andreaskardio So you just continue all the meds but dont ask yourself if they are still necessary? What about data supporting statins in geriatric patients at the final stage of life? Do we have them?
