It's not so much the emotions as it is spontaneously assaulting someone in front of millions of people on live TV over a joke.

Atheists are free to start as many hospitals as they wish. By voluntarily working to heal others consistent with their moral beliefs, Catholics aren't taking anything away from anyone. It borders on religious bigotry to twist their charity into withholding.

For Christians, most every belief they have about anything if substance would be driven at least in part by their religious belief. But to imagine there's no way to oppose abortion from a secular perspective seems disingenuous and factually wrong.

I don't think their arguments on abortion are all that popular. Most ppl in the US support restricting abortion after the first trimester, as does the vast majority of Europe. Many Ds can't even bring themselves to endorse restrictions in the third trimester. This is not popular.
