We understand that power outages, especially frequent and extended outages, are difficult for everyone. Though we wish that we were able to provide you with a set outage schedule, DME (and all of Texas) has to comply with ERCOT regulations and requirements.

As temperatures fall this afternoon and evening, ERCOT could mandate additional statewide rotating outages to reduce strain on the Texas electric grid. If implemented, the rotating outages would last an estimated 45 minutes, followed by a minimum of 45 minutes of power. (2/4)

crews for replacing 69kv poles damaged by severe storms early this week. While some of us are home during this crisis, please keep in mind that our dedicated field personnel does not have that option.
DME crews are currently working many reported outages. Areas include: Jasmine, Wisteria, Azalea, Laurel, Joshua, Highland Park, Willowcrest, Golf, Kendolph, Bonnie Brae, and surrounding areas in S Denton and North East Denton.
Since 2 a.m. on Feb. 15, DME has received a high number of requests from ERCOT, with the latest allowing an increase to the load. Additionally, ERCOT does not provide forewarning on any requests—they happen in real-time and we have to adjust immediately.
Michael Pennington is a foreman at Denton Municipal Electric working long hours this week. It took less than 20 min for DME crews to restore an outage for about 1500 customers Wednesday night. He urges families to have an outage safety plan.
