When we asked the chief referee Rishab why he didn't protect the players, he simply laughed. There were ZERO cards shown in the match.

Point 1 is damm depressing, in my 4-5 seasons of actively operating with club teams in state leagues , never came across any scouts, NT call ups are just big clubs or finalists.
NT is missing out on talents..for sure across teams..
But who cares..!!

There isn't a transparent NT selection pathway for young players to strive for, the current "system" is designed to encourage mediocrity and bias
How to get national call-up? Who controls NT selection? How it dictates the pricing in ISL player market? What incentives are paid to get the tag of NT player? Why salary inflates after NT tag? What are the shortcuts to get into & stay at NT forever? Can of worms. Crime thriller.

Football, like any education process involves pedagogy, child development factors, socio-cultural context, underlying values of a player/team. Our reductionist approach of turning it into a "tryout-piegonhole positioning-medals-money" have ruined the beauty of this beautiful game

Looking closely at last 3 yrs data, Bangladesh performance has been commendable. While India U16 failed to qualify ever on merit, our neighbors achieved this 2 / 3 times they attempted, back to back in 2017 & 2019. They have much better goal diff inspite of tougher opposition
