This is why I love Yoru.
The concept of an inhuman devil being stuck in the body of a regular human and having to (and failing to) struggle with our emotions and complexities was so fascinating to me (and it was quite funny, many times :P)

So it seems Pochita doesn't retroactively erase the concept from history since (besides ears) nothing changed after ears got erased. The world would be wildly different if ears never existed.
