A thread. i was recently made aware some people did not like the political statements made by some drag queens last week at our club. Something about mixing business and politics. Well if you have a gay establishment, you can't help it will be a stage for bringing out issues
@just4gyyu
well all of these bashings won’t happen if he just stayed quiet. granted yes he waited till she was 18, but the girl also relentlessly pursued him. some things should just have stayed in the drafts.
for just being. So before you sip that drink, think of all past clubs that paved the way. The very act of drag is a protest. They're not just to entertain. Fighting for equality will always be political.
May i remind you that Nike dropped an infamous Filipino boxer bec of his anti-gay statements. Business intersecting with partisan politics is bad? No Brainer? baka suot suot mo pa yung Nike shoes na binili mo last week lol
concerning LGBT. Drag Queens have been long at the forefront for the fight for equality for us LGBT. The very freedom to gather around and party is possible due to the decades of struggle of our past drag queen sisters. Stonewall, remember? Other countries would just kill gays

here unfortunately it’s minsan nakakalusot, minsan hindi. it depends if the publishing houses have agency here locally of if they have time or resources to pursue cases. FILSCAP should ideally be leading agency for this but since Lenka is not a member, nothing is done.
@tepokSDG
It’s very similar to the bus route system abroad. They can’t just stop whenever - designated stops and schedules. It even services parts of Makati and Nuvali
kung ayaw niyo ng politics sa club niyo you can always opt out. It’s a risk, but if the club chooses to be partisan it’s because issues need to be said. maybe we can teach the club kids to vote wisely in the next election. we chose this platform, find your own!
I don’t think
@ama_survivah
disrespected the Catholic religion. If anything else she is just reminding you of your faith. Only she can make you sing church songs in a club.
@yogawithben
in a way buti lumabas na rin itong issue. i think drug use in the gay scene is becoming rampant. while hindi naman mapipigilan, i wish there was some agency who can educate on harm and risk reduction.
Racism really starts in the family. then when you grow older, in the media, tv & movies. When you were taught not to befriend anyone who is different from you, or hearing jokes on skin, hair, height, etc. It takes a lifetime undoing these.
I hardly address Duterte supporters because i have a lot of friends who voted for him and i respect that. I believe these discussions are best kept private. And i’m also not well versed to argue about politics, But when the DDS comes for my club and my drag sisters -

what these people are missing the point being, this counterculture is being born in gay CLUBS. The same thing that happened with Vogue , which originated from the balls in Harlem. How come they can’t mention that?

To all spa-goers, respeto naman sa kapwa client.
A lot of our older queens have relied on impersonation to get by, and so it’s not surprising to have dark makeup when impersonating Black divas. i do believe they don’t mean to demean and i’m sure with proper enlightenment they can adjust.
i forgot to say this: WHEN in the club - Just dance your ass off PLEASE! Nothing pleases a dj more when they see people dancing. Leave the cruising/hunt for a sec and show others you’re having a great time! It’s very sexy!
i used to be part of many friend groups but over the years a lot of us have drifted apart. Inclusion is a two-way street - if you don’t give the effort then neither will them.
