ETF's hold the actual bitcoin in custody to back all of the shares they issue on a 1:1 basis. Exchanges serve as custodians for their customers' coins, though you place a lot of trust in them by holding them there. Granted, unless you have BTC in a cold wallet cold, it's not entirely under your control.

@w_s_bitcoin You cqn't know how much BTC or how many individuals own bitcoin solely based on the number of wallets over a certain amount. How many of those wallets are pooled coins from exchanges, ETF, etc.

@21BitcoinMaxi @rajatsonifnance Because their fiat fortunes will be diluted to infinite, and yet BTC will still have a max supply of 21M.

I think the heavily weighted call options market has caused much of the hold back. MM's will push down on the price to liquidate long leverage until everyone buys into puts thinking the market will crash. Only when it's in the MM's favor will they then send the price up to the next level.

@SimulatedLion @planethunter56 I believe "disclosure" is already happening. All of the conversations today, such as these amongst the community, serve to soften us up for the blow of something when it becomes a new reality.

@dueyfromstlouis @DavidFBailey Those who store value in fiat also need to actively work to maintain its purchasing power. Storing value in BTC means BTC does the working for you.

@Crazymoments01 @elonmusk This sounds like a great idea. I wonder, though, is the kind of person who would rather work a "menial" job to avoid losing their welfare, likely to have the drive needed to succeed beyond that?

@StigvdA Gold just got diluted even further, and BTC still has a limited supply.

@Matt_Hougan Retail doesn't seem to understand BTC is now officially mainstream, and the new rush of liquidity will change past patterns. Big Money doesn't feed into FUD and dump their holdings when prices dip. They hoover up retail coins and lock them away.

@dirty_tackle14 @swinger2001 @MetaGorgonite @KobeissiLetter What solution do you propose to solve the Gaza issue, and as far as Canada goes, they might actually be better served to consider it.
