@castroanti_ snapping over a slammed door? anger issue. but punching a guy who insulted his son? normal reaction. fight club where ppl voluntarily sign up to fight? wrong but not an anger issue. anger itself is normal. it’s the disproportionate and impulsive reactions that define the problem.

@Firehammer6 yeah. not saying that going to underground fight clubs is the right thing to do for any reason. mutual consent/intentional or not, he still hurt someone. but understanding the motivation behind it matters. “eddie has an anger issue” is a huge mischaracterization to me.

@buddie_eee neither. it was abt escaping responsibilities he wasn’t ready for. he didn’t want marriage or fatherhood that young, but not wanting it felt wrong since it was his “fault” she got pregnant. the army offered both an escape & financial security, giving him the perfect excuse to run

eddie’s never been shown to take his pain out on others, but rather choosing to take the hit and feel the pain that he believed he deserved. none of this indicates anger issues—it screams self-harm and self-destruction, which often associates with distress, trauma and depression.
