Israel shot and killed an 8-months-pregnant woman today in the Nour Shams refugee camp in the West Bank. Israeli soldiers stopped any medical assistance from reaching them, so both she and the baby inside her died. Her name was Sundus Shalabi.

@bbclaurak @BBCNews Much more must be reported about this , but well done Laura for broaching this unethical treatment on your programme today with the morally bankrupt Hertzog , who was previously photographed signing bombs destined for Gaza civilians.
Israel wasn't subjected to a deliberate starvation blockade like Gaza was, yet its hostages come back looking far more emaciated than the hostages held by Hamas. Palestinian hostages were starved deliberately out of cruelty, but it's the Israeli hostages we're told to focus on.

@BluetackMinds @Miss_Snuffy Me too. I taught in state then led in Ind school in Kent. I hear you , I saw it first hand but at least there are choices denied to parents and children in the NE. Choice is key.

@dave_mcpartlin After 37 years of teaching and senior leadership , I can say there is no quick fix. The constant black hole is SEND funding, staffing and resourcing , nothing has changed since the mid 80’s . If anything g the referral criteria is now ridiculously high .

For 45 days, he was blindfolded, shackled, and forced to kneel, before being transferred to Naqab (Negev) prison, where he suffered electric shocks and attacks by dogs. Upon his release, visible signs of torture and extreme malnutrition marked his face.

@BluetackMinds @Miss_Snuffy In the north east the grammars were shut in the late 60’s ….for working class children the grammar was a way out. No private tutors , no ‘ creaming off’ just poor but bright kids getting a chance to flourish. The Labour Comps set up to replace all were poor.

@Miss_Snuffy Having taught in the south east for 12 years I saw first hand the education apartheid evident. Her backward steps to maintain the unsatisfactory status quo offers schools nothing better than the 1980’s ( which I recall) . It’s depressing.
