Very large active area now facing Earth is 500,000km in width and has thrown off multiple C & M-Class flares this morning

Here's everything to scale.

There's also a large filament about 300,000km in length.

Active Areas AR3976/77/78 have been emitting M Class flares this afternoon. This highly active region is 200,000km in diameter.

Not many spots but loads of filaments on today’s Sun. You can’t see it but there is also a large coronal hole facing us that may give us aurorae at the weekend.
