@The3rdFrame I’d acknowledge the notion of it more if, in principle, Trump was prepared to allow the displaced to resettle in the US … not that many of them would likely want that, but it would at least balance his total lack of interest in the human consequences.

Unfortunately, he wouldn’t. He’d just give the impression of breaking things to fix them … but leave them more broken than they were before. Because that ‘big brain’ shit is a disruptor illusion. See the artist formerly known as Twitter for an example.
All I’m thinking as I watch this, is that I’d love to see @elonmusk unleashed on the NHS in the UK… he’d save billions and make it work properly again. Government needs big brain wrecking balls to fix stuff that’s broken - not meek mediocre minnows.

@The3rdFrame But he intends to do it by threatening the surrounding countries into accepting displaced people who fundamentally don’t want to leave land they consider to be theirs. And the US isn’t going to pay for any of that or let them return to it. Ethnic cleansing by any other name.
