All this stuff about The Good Doctor going around makes me believe that most likely the best autistic representation we’ve ever gotten from Hollywood is when an autistic person wrote himself into a movie about the very topic that he was hyperfixated on at the time.
Every now and then I think about how Po is one of the few kids’ movie heroes who kills the villain at the end.
No “tries to spare him but is forced to finish him off” or “villain dies due to his own actions” but straight up has him at his mercy and executes him.
Pretty based ngl.
Ngl I’m actually kind of surprised by the amount of people who thought he was Jack Black this whole time.
Don’t get me wrong I realize he’s Eddie from Brütal Legend with blue skin, it’s just that animated movies these days MAKE SURE you know who’s in them.
He’s Chris Pratt btw.
Xenoblade fans are the equivalent of a lesser known state university that loves to go on about their football team’s rivalry with the most popular one in the state, while everyone who goes to that other school literally never thinks about them.
@_TheSmartAlec
All I know about this movie is there are Orcs living in housing projects, the movie Shrek still exists in this universe, and at one point Will Smith says “Fairy Lives Don’t Matter”
@Yeenie_Mcbeenie
It’s so wild how that was like, an ongoing joke with them. Like I can’t remember well enough to know if that was a widespread cultural fear at the time that they were “poking fun at” or if this is just a them thing because of how the industry was competing with Japan.
I think one of my favorite millennial trends is seeing all the genuine appreciation for actors who used to get written off as bad or one-note by critics and general online discussion
I remember first thinking this when I saw Chris Pratt get cast as the older brother in Onward and thinking “yep, that is a Jack Black character misplaced in time”
How to be a Man

- Have all the force of a great typhoon
- Have all the strength of a raging fire
- Be mysterious as the dark side of the moon
Don’t let the Huns take away your homeland
How to be a Man

- Be masculine
- Be dangerous
- Be reliable
- Be a man of character
- Take responsibility for your life
- Dress masculine

- Lay down the law

Dont let degeneracy take away your masculinity
Convinced that the “Quirky Earthbound inspired RPG with themes of depression” oversaturation is a psy-op because looking at the, uh, three or four games that ever even get brought up when talking about this only like one of them really does much with those themes anyway.
@CookYhooo
I’m split between finding the idea of actually doing this really funny and sad that he might actually be gone. Him being missing this long isn’t a good sign at all.
All these jokes about Uncle Ben dying again continue to miss the point of how desperately this version of Spider-Man needed that backstory and what a disservice was done when they stripped away his emotional core and replaced it with a false image of one through Tony Stark.
‘SPIDER-MAN: FRESHMAN YEAR’ will be set in the MCU and follows Peter Parker in his early days as Spider-Man “with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.”
The problem isn’t that the people getting mad think his opinions are objective, it’s the constant concern that people with large followings will spread misinformation and that we’ll find ourselves arguing with the same nonsense arguments for 10+ years (See: Arin Hanson on Oot)
@Yeenie_Mcbeenie
Having Lin Manuel Miranda songs in this movie alongside the original ones stands out in the same way as the new Clone High designs lol
I’d know exactly which ones were new even if it were my first time seeing the movie.
It’s incredible to me just how many “professional” critics just do not pay attention to the movies they’re paid to review.
The whole premise of this film is about Goofy trying to figure out how to be involved in his son’s life without being overbearing. It’s a message FOR adults.
Incredible how cats are some of the most feared predators for rodents and other tiny creatures but everything big enough to not be threatened by them is like “haha, love these guys!”
@CherryGuts
I cannot fathom how someone would see this kind of attraction as an important enough part of their identity to advertise it to everyone unless their intent was to let everyone know that they weren’t safe because they aren’t on a watchlist.
This Mario Movie track, "Drivin' Me Bananas," beautifully adapts the DKC theme and DK Island Swing for the big screen. Truly wonderful work by
@BrianTylerMusic
and Koji Kondo. Now, imagine if Nintendo/Illumination brought
@David_Wise
onboard to help compose for the DK movie!
@twinkdefcon
He liked it so much that he framed his Rocky and Bullwinkle review within the context of a skit parodying Salieri’s recalling of events in the movie.
Honestly I’m kinda glad that the “Wow, cool robot!” meme got more and more nonsensical as they continued to spread in usage because people who actually get mad at anyone who just likes the story for the cool robot are honestly some of the most annoying people online.
@DSACostanza
Man this actually kinda sucks to see.
Even if it was just a compromise to emulate realism within the limitations of the PS3’s hardware, there was a legitimate charm and expressiveness to the artstyle of this game.
It’s like seeing the life get sucked out of it completely.
“It’s too long” is such a lame excuse to me.
Just admit that your approach to media is as soulless as crossing things off on a checklist and stick to film or something else less long form if having More Things Consumed™️ gives you that much satisfaction.
I love how during Golden Age the entire Band of the Hawk practically worships Guts while this one guy will find any excuse to hate him for anything he does.
I think every story in fiction needs a dedicated hater.
Just someone that constantly beefs with a main character for no reason. It's even funnier when the beef is one sided. Every story is made better with the inclusion of a hater.
So at this point is it safe to say that the Avatar: The Last Airbender fanbase and the “I Watched Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix” people are two separate entities?
I remember watching some Arthur as a kid but idk if I saw this episode or not.
All I’m saying is that even from an out of context clip it should be SUPER obvious that this isn’t being framed as “okay” in any way.
Jonathan Blow: “NOOOOOOOOO YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE EXAMINING THIS GAME’S DEEPER THEMES NOT HAVING FUN!”
Soulja Boy: “AYO CHECK OUT THIS MARIO LOOKIN DUDE I CAN REWIND HIM AFTER I JUMP”
@PunishedTyke
Three Houses fans to busy getting horny and/or crying about the characters to really care.
Hell even the worst parts like some of the CG mostly just got memed on, like I never saw people say “THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY”
@HARAMNOVIA
That one chick who always poses with guns and her MAGA hat is someone who I never would have seen if it hadn’t been for the amount of times she’s been quote tweeted onto my timeline.
Will never understand how people can say that this part is ass while in the same breath telling you that it gets good at the parts where every episode the main character fights some new jobber, rinse and repeat until they get to the final boss.
Right.
Because The Departed, Silence of the Lambs, No Country for Old Men, The Godfather 1 and 2, The Deer Hunter, and One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest are so much more tame in comparison.
@bluenylons
Nah, it’s Chris Pratt.
Not a bad option imo considering that he has a similar energy and his roles on Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy have their identity tied to classic rock and 70’s music.
It’s probably him because he’s closer in age to Tom Holland.
@YouWaShockMan
I don’t get what’s so hard about just improving performance and reducing load times. Why pump so much money and labor into marginally improved graphics while fixing none of the issues of the previous generations and then still have the audacity to raise the price for consumers?
A dev memo regarding “Fire Emblem Engage” just leaked. Supposedly, due to player feedback, the game will feature multiple branching paths based on the morality of the choices you make. The protagonist’s hair color changes between blue and red to reflect the actions you choose.
One of the main characters constantly goes on about how great of a person her police officer dad was and there's no reason to believe she's in the wrong for idolizing him.
It's less a condemnation of the system as a whole but of those in authority who choose to abuse their power.

@PoorlyAgedStuff
Thinking about how much money went into kickstarting games that did exactly this all because Rareware decided that these kinds of games were what gamers don’t want.
