@Theophania40 Thanks for sharing! An older family friend described hearing an extremely loud, buzzing noise like this when she woke up to see a bright white orb outside her window in NJ in the early 80s. She also had an encounter with "greys" in her bedroom around the same time.

@DogeMemery I never meant to imply that this was one single phenomenon. Or that it was all aliens. It seems to be multiple things, some of which is related to OBEs and astral projection as the Monroe Institute and numerous other AP practitioners have discussed over the years.

It's not similar to the incident I mentioned in the OP, no. But as this thread makes clear, evidently we are dealing with multiple phenomena here which manifest in different ways. I'm simply interested in some of the common themes. The noise I hear when I do an "astral" meditation can be like a high-pitched ringing, but not like the clip. More of a clear bell tone, and it varies a bit each time. The thing in 2018 was like if the recreation clip I linked was as loud as a jet engine and came in oscillating waves which grew louder and stronger over about 20-30 seconds.

@xsyntryk1 @AnomaIous_User I wonder about that and more. I don't know if I'll ever know the truth.

That's entirely possible. When my event occurred, it seemed like there was someone in my house. I became scared and confused, then all of a sudden I was zapped by whatever this force was. I don't know if it was human, alien, or something else entirely. Maybe I'm just crazy. But I think there's something here, and I have no doubt it can be weaponized or manipulated in a multitude of ways. Look at all the reports of alien contactees having metal rods pointed at them or pressed to their heads - I've personally met several of those people who report experiencing the same sound/vibration during those incidents, ultimately causing them to go unconscious or enter an altered state. Infrasound also comes to mind, and its connection to various anomalous phenomena. It's a deep rabbit hole.

@dtisch @Sunnymorning17 Thanks for sharing man 🙏 That is some profound stuff. It's clear to me that, like various mystical traditions have hinted about since pretty much forever, vibration is at the heart of a lot of the greatest mysteries and truths of this life and beyond.

@coralk_ Yes! It's a great audio recreation. My 2018 experience was much louder and came in oscillating waves though. Still, I think it's a good approximation of what many experience during various types of anomalous experiences, not just abductions or anything.

@dtisch @Sunnymorning17 Skip to roughly 35:10 Dr. Nolan also received a telepathic message during this vibrational experience saying "this is how we connect." Again, resonance. I've received similar auditory messages during my experiences.

@dtisch @RShackleford01 And again - the TV static is not what I experienced in my one-off event I referenced in the OP from 2018. That was as loud as a jet engine outside my window, maybe louder, and felt very different.

I can AP within seconds if I do it first thing in the morning. I do think these vibrational phenomena are related, but to say that it's all the same thing just doesn't ring true to me. I've had sleep paralysis, astral experiences and more "alien" encounters, and they're all different in their own ways. In the case of my 2018 experience I was wide awake when suddenly this deafening, impossibly loud vibration spontaneously took over my body and I blacked out. I woke up hours later, in a different part of my bedroom, with my arms crossed and my shirt unbuttoned. None of that is like my AP experiences. Hope that makes sense and clarifies things a bit.

I've been practicing astral projection for 4 years, and this was different. Not saying it couldn't be related to AP or OBEs, just that this stuff exists on a spectrum. When I AP there is always a definite vibration, but on this occasion I was wide awake, sitting up, and the noise was IMPOSSIBLY loud. The sensation in general was nothing like AP or sleep paralysis, and I've done it all.

I also had the sensation of being lifted up, but have no memory of going anywhere. I've had sleep paralysis as well and it was a completely different thing. I've never had SP while sitting up either, and I was wide awake. I thought I heard people in my house and then boom, the vibration hits, louder than anything imaginable.

@cariboutwostep Same exact thing happened to me, except I was alone. Wide awake, then ZAP. 20 seconds later I was out, lost several hours of time and woke up in a totally different part of my room in an odd position, arms crossed like a mummy. When I came to it was like a fade-from-black edit.

Check out this related quote from HP Lovecraft's "Dreams in the Witch House," a full century ago. "Of how the organic entities moved, he could tell no more than of how he moved himself. In time he observed a further mystery—the tendency of certain entities to appear suddenly out of empty space, or to disappear totally with equal suddenness. The shrieking, roaring confusion of sound which permeated the abysses was past all analysis as to pitch, timbre, or rhythm; but seemed to be synchronous with vague visual changes in all the indefinite objects, organic and inorganic alike. Gilman had a constant sense of dread that it might rise to some unbearable degree of intensity during one or another of its obscure, relentlessly inevitable fluctuations." Lovecraft definitely experienced some shit

@Sunwolf77 There's absolutely a connection between dissociation/nmda antagonism and anomalous phenomena, imo. This is clear.
