💯. To be frank most Asian Americans and Asian legal immigrants (no matter how meritorious) will never be fully embraced by either side in the near term. How much of that matters for the USA's growth, competitiveness and prosperity in the long term is an open question.
Indian Americans delivered for the GOP in 2024, and now we’re watching as far-right grifters normalize anti-Indian hate. We don’t owe loyalty to a party that tolerates racists who despise us. That being said, I don’t like the left either. The Democrats see us as nothing more than ATM machines, taking our donations while vilifying India and letting ‘progressives’ openly court those who have spent centuries trying to erase us. They cheer for diversity until it’s Indian Americans succeeding on merit, then suddenly we’re a privileged minority who needs to be cut down. We don’t owe blind loyalty to any party, and we won’t be silent while being scapegoated.

We've been seeing this in academic research grants for a while. Even before Biden's term started. It accelerated big time during Biden's term.
People really don't comprehend the implications of this. All of federal contracting & grant funding has been infected with DEI in both blatant & insidious ways. From the programs themselves, to the terms of awards, to the scoring of proposals. Top to bottom, it's everywhere, with hundreds of billions of dollars impacted.
