"Protecting small island nations, it's protecting the world." Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are renowned for their natural assets, from pristine coastlines to picturesque marine ecosystems, but they're also uniquely vulnerable to the changing climate. How can we stop them from being lost forever? The answer may lie in leveraging the very biodiversity that attracts tourists from across the globe. Nature-based solutions, innovative approaches in carbon finance, tourism and insurance can all create a vibrant blue economy – one that's overflowing with opportunity for investment 🏝️ In our brand new hero film, leading marine scientist @deborahbrosnan, Rebekah Clement from @LloydsofLondon, High Commissioner of The Bahamas Paul Andrew Gomez and Johanna Leonhardt from @soneva unpack how SIDS can become more climate resilient. 🔗 Visit our Regenerating Oceans Hub to watch the full film:

"These coral reefs have been protecting us against storm surges, protecting us against flooding." Small Island Developing States are home to 65 million people around the world and a remarkable amount of biodiversity 🪸 These nations are responsible for less than 1% of greenhouse gas emissions, but they are disproportionately impacted by the changing climate, leaving them vulnerable to natural disasters and debt. As Marine Scientist @deborahbrosnan explains, nature-based solutions could hold the key to environmental and financial resilience. With governments, the hospitality industry, and local communities all working together, we can restore marine ecosystems and foster a vibrant blue economy. This month at RE:TV we're diving into the topic of regenerating oceans. To learn more about investing in Small Island Developing States, watch the extended interview with Dr. Brosnan on our newly launched hub:

Hurricane #Beryl intensified from a tropical depression to a Category 4 in just 48 hours. With ocean temperatures of 29oC our activities have primed the pump for rapidly intensifying hurricanes. Please stay safe #Grenada and #Caribbean.
