no cause everyone and their mama got sideplots and promo in her season and when she did them the favour of coming back for s2 after delivering a hit show they didn't even have the courtesy of doing the same with her
“She was what Edmund had always called Eloise’s “accidental twin.” They shared a birthday, the two of them, a year apart. Eloise was louder, bolder. But every now and then Francesca would surprise them all and do something that was completely her own.” 💙
“Naturally introverted, selectively extroverted” more like always introverted but will yap and yap if you ask me about a specific niche interest of mine
so in the bridgerton world a duke, a viscount and an earl’s weddings are all small private affairs but a third son and a baron’s daughter get the wedding of the season. the fanfiction levels of s3 istg
i adore violet but the one presenting frannie to the queen should have been kate as viscountess bridgerton. didn’t anthony say so himself while talking about his future wife’s duties? this show is so hellbent on snubbing kate they’re contradicting their own scripts.

NO ONE was talking about marina thompson (an 18yo girl) being pregnant until penelope put her on blast so that she wouldn't marry her crush. she betrayed a vulnerable teenage girl who trusted her with a secret and publicly ruined her out of jealousy and resentfulness.
shading ruby stokes for leaving bridgerton when they cast her as a member of the main family and then gave her NOTHING to work with in s1 other than three cameos in the first and last episode 🙄
“bridgerton fans are so evil” and it’s literally just women being disappointed their favourite love story won’t be adapted after years of anticipating it
“Some elements of her story allow us to make sure we can tell a pretty happy ending for Francesca and Michaela. I was important for me in telling a main queer story to be able to give them a happily ever after, as we have with every other couple.” Jess Brownell

bridgerton has the perfect opportunity to revamp the show with s4. new couple, fresh love story, finally moving on from characters/arcs that have long overstayed their welcome (featheringtons, whistledown/queen beef etc) and focusing more on bridgertons and spouses
bridgerton is a show about a family of 8 siblings. add to that the matriarch. add to that 8 spouses. add to that at least 2 supporting characters from each spouse’s background. how on god’s green earth shondaland thought it wise to add half a dozen ocs each season is beyond me
“francesca recast is the best thing that happened to her character” was ruby stokes ever even given the opportunity to play frannie for you to judge her interpretation or had the production relegated her to a glorified extra with less lines than the featherington sisters
the mental gymnastics of people trying to convince themselves a female character has no reason to be around unless she's with her husband 😭 also keep in mind that these glorified extras got more promotion by shonda in s1 than phoebe did in s2 as a returning lead of a hit season
literally why??? would anthony?? duel colin?? penelope’s not his sister or his daughter and he’s barely even interacted with her lmao who’s writing this show
“Gregory was two and a half years her elder, and he lived to vex her. He always had... He and Hyacinth had always been a bit on their own, a bit of a duo. A bickering, poking, frog-in-the-bed sort of duo, but a duo nonetheless.”
It’s always the dark-haired, brown-eyed tender-hearted, sweet-spirited ones that teach you the meaning of yearning, the length of longing, the depth of pining.
the penelope/cinderella parallels are ridiculous not only because there’s an entire cinderella retelling in the bridgerton series but also cause there’s already a cinderella figure in penelope’s story and it’s not penelope herself. that would be marina thompson.
hyacinth and gregory were more present in s1 than frannie. let that sink in. the decision to exclude francesca’s character was a deliberate one and the excuse that the actress was busy can’t stand cause why cast someone who’s not available for a new project?
“b-b-but marina was trying to baby trap poor colin!” do y’all seriously expect me to sympathise with the man when it comes to a teenage girl literally trying to SURVIVE in 19th century england. be for fucking real.
even if you want marital angst for kathony why would you root for siena to come back and kate to suffer AGAIN after everything she went through in s2. why not make up a hot rake who falls for the viscountess or something. if we're gonna go full fanfic let's make it worthwhile idk
it’s pretty clear that they viewed ruby as their stand in for francesca cause she was a character they weren’t interested in exploring in the immediate future, unlike anthony, benedict, colin, eloise and penelope. no wonder she said yes to another project where she’d be a lead.
not people in replies shondasplaining with the extended honeymoon copout 😭 the show never had any respect for kate sharma and they wanted to get her and anthony out of the way, it’s really not that deep lmao
the way eloise brings up marina and she goes “eloise you can’t possibly–” she can’t possibly what? be disgusted that you exposed a vulnerable girl’s pregnancy to the entire ton? the delusion is next level cause she probably believes the bridgertons should thank her for this 💀
i don't think people understand how important kate’s character is supposed to be for the bridgerton family and that's because the show has gone to great lengths to downplay it... and they're still at it. it's kate who should be there launching francesca, as viscountess bridgerton
i hope julia doesn't sell another copy of WHWW in her life and jess’s legacy is getting what was once a hit show cancelled. all this talk about romance being an extremely popular book genre when selling s1 only for them to spit on book readers faces time after time.
free el from penelope jail and let her interact with more girls, get to know them, have fun and create meaningful bonds and even be a rebellious influence
