I normally live in the real world but I like to escape to the 3D printing world where conventional rules don’t apply and your thoughts can become a reality.
I've finally found an alternative bearing. This square rail bearings with PTFE inserts works really well!😁
I'm thinking a new Mostly Printed Printer for MRRF next year. A simpler easier to build version of the Mulbot. Maybe I should go for the mostly printed printer record?🤔
This company is paying for ads here and on Tic Toc under Wildoze. They are selling my designs on their personal websites without permission. I’ve tried to contact them with no response. What can I do about it?
Does anyone like over-engineered gift boxes which print in place, all look the same but each has a different way of opening? 😉 You're in luck, the first one for this year is on the printer.
This is my first torsion spring, I hope it doesn't take many revisions to get it right.
The PTFE linear actuator is done, this thing is so cool!😎 Time for some life cycle testing. Despite what the hatters say, its going to work. We'll start with a few hundred hours at 60 mm/s.
His smile is almost as big as the printer he just received from
@joeltelling
! He’s been asking for a resin printer since MRRF last year and he finally got it. Time for some father son bonding experiences. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! ❤️
It’s running with a Adafruit motor shield at 100mm/s. We’ll see how it looks in the morning but there is no heat or debris from the PTFE so far. We’ll run until something breaks!
When you make something for someone you care about it always turns out better. 🥰 This ones for my daughter, she's the reason why I designed this version originally. If you want the files, I just put them on

I FINALLY figured out how to do a removable cap for the katana!
What's cool is I got the idea from a spring loaded catch I made, which I got that idea from the first gift box I designed. Amazing how a simple idea can be modified for different applications.
I printed our family a new kitty.😻Since I have a IDEX I decided to print it in two colors. It turned out pretty good but lots of stringing…
We need to give him a name, any ideas? 🧏♂️
Really happy with the way the print in place vise turnout out. It took me longer then expected to get the design right because the lightening holes were causing overhang issues. I think I'll start on a version with interchangeable jaws as I would really like a set of soft jaws.

Creator Pro almost just burnt my house down. 😡 I woke up to a fire alarm at 3am with literally flames on the floor and the room full of smoke.
If you own one of these, do not use it. I should have learned my lesson after the first connector shorted.
It works, first try! I got a little designing done during the holiday.😏 When you spin the pot, the tree spins three times faster in the opposite direction. 😎⚙️It’s hollow too, it only weighs 25g. 🤯 I’m excited to see how it works a bit bigger with some coextruded filament too.

. To unlatch this one you press the right two ribbons in from the outside. I like it because its piratical as it pretty easy to open but I'm going to make a more difficult version where you have to press all four to open. 😈
Normally I design lightsabers to have as few pieces as possible but I a lot of people ask for full color single extruder versions so I decided to go the opposite direction with this one. There are locators for all the parts so its actually pretty fun to assemble.
A first look at the Muldex! A rep-rap IDEX with all the motors stationary mounted to the frame, it will have a auto-tramming belted Z with a kinematic coupled bed.
Thanks to all our sponsors and community members that have helped along the way! 🙏🙏🙏 More info coming soon!

Tanjiro's collapsing katana is ready for download. There is a new mechanism for the cap so the blade can be changed, its pretty slick. This version prints in full color with a single extruder printer. There is also a single color version.

The Secret Butterfly box is probably one of my most popular designs but it has less 50 downloads on

If you have not seen it before, its a puzzle box with a trapped key you have to find to open it. Its really fun!

The Muldex ready! I originally designed it for MRRF last year with the help of a bunch of sponsors so I'm so happy to to finally show off a new version of it in person this year.
I love with 3D printing that you can overengineer things and it mostly only costs you your time.
@webRat
showed me his 3D printed post caps a while back so when mine needed replaced I thought I would do the same. I hope they last longer then the wood versions I paid $20 each for.
This will be my second attempt at a broom holder. The last concept was a failure so I ditched it.
What is wrong with me?!?!? Why cant I just go buy one! 🤪
I uploaded three forms of Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu. The chain makes it so much better, so happy I included it.
This is the multi-part/color version. The single color version is coming tomorrow.

I can say these LDO bearings are smooth as snot and the frame is square. 😁😎🤘
P.S. buy your extrusions precison CTL and rely on the cut for a square build by utilizing the end holes and button heads instead of inside t-nuts or corner brackets.
Disappointed, I just found out 75 people signed up to my Patreon then left before they were billed the next month so they weren’t charged. I have since changed the setting but it makes me sad so many would take advantage. Especially considering the majority of my models are free.
Practical print time! 😁
I needed a catch for the package drop box I made because the stick I jammed in the door jam is not cutting it.🤣 I designed a PNP spring loaded catch.
Its printed out of 3D Fuel PLA but the next one on the printer is PETG, since its going outside.
If you are a fan of Tajiro's first katana the multi-color single extruder version is ready for download. For those who who don't want to glue things together, the single color version is coming shortly.

I'm in the process of uploading my files to Prusaprinters and the collapsible basket just got featured. If you have not printed it yet, you should check it out!
This time I went with a clear panel for the back cover, no mess to hide.
Fun fact! Supports at the bottom of the panel hold it in place so only two screws at the top are required to remove it for easy access.
Since LDO anodizes after the cut, it sure makes the ends look sharp.
The first wind spinner balloon out of Eryones Matte Dual color filament is done and it has the exact effect I was hoping for. 😍 Plus the new design printed perfectly.
Let’s go bigger next in yellow and blue next!
Whatcha think
@KallmeAbby
!?!?
It works!🤘 DYI Co-extrusion anyone?!?!?
Thanks to
@SliceEngineer
and Chris for your input and for making a Open Source hotend design that I could “remix” into a co-extrusion die.
Happy I’ll be bringing this project to MRRF! We’ll see how far we get on a spooling solution.
I hope you like your presents this year!🎁🎅 Gift Box

This one opens by turning the very center of the bow. I think its pretty tricky to figure out too but easy once you know how.

Open source for the win!⚙️😆 At ERRF I admired the locking pivoting screen on the Prusa Mini so I copied the design for the Panneldue7i mount on the Muldex. Since the files are made public I could more easily make this version without a bunch of iterations. Thanks Joesph!👍👍👍
😮I just cashed in my

FYI...I've only been posting my new designs on Thangs so check me out there too. 🙏
More free Tanjiro's files for your printers to consume over on
@Thangs3D

Oh, multi-color (AMS) versions are coming soon.

for supporting me and everyone for printing and showing off my models. 👏
In celebration, I planed on releasing this model but it hasn't finished yet so stay tuned...🙏
The first giftbox of the year is ready for my members to download. 🎁 I love the way it turned out, I finally got to use a torsion spring. Its not much of a puzzle but the next one will be. Hopefully I can get four more figured out this year.

Someone was selling a katana on
@Etsy
and refused to take it down because "its free to download the files, so I can sell it if I want too" even though its got a CC NC license. So I filed a claim with etsy and they reject my claim...🤦♂️
Bad news for anyone following my PTFE bearing concept. I finally found some time to test the bearing with some weight and the results were not good... The bearing was destroyed after 12 hours with 150grams hanging 3" off the center. I guess no 3D printer in this bearings future.
After four years of noodling, I think I finally figured out how to make the toggle lock parallel jaw gripper print-in-place. Its such a cool concept, I hope it works. I've gone through a rough patch of failed projects lately which can happen when you design mechanical things...
Every friend, family member, coworker I have shown these boxes to has wanted to buy one. Yet I do not see a single one for sale on Esty. Now is the time! Consider joining my commercial membership on

I designed a Snowman with planetary gears!😯I need your help finishing it for
@thangs3d
remix contest. You could win a $150 gift card.
This model is cool! When you rotate the bottom the head spins really quickly because of the planetary gears. 🤘

Do you forget what size nozzle is in your printer? I made a nozzle size indicator that is ready for free download!😎 It took me a full week to the spring detent right..😅

Just wait until you see some of the new designs I’m working on for the near future. 😀
To say thanks, if you post a picture of one of my designs in this tweet I’ll pick my favorite and send you a voucher for two spools of Prusament!
You can find stl's for Darth Maul's collapsing lightsaber on my Patreon right now! 😁
There's a connector for threading the two half's together and each half has a cap to retain the blade when separated.
Pretty happy with how the independent Z leveling turned out. It consistently checks to less than a 30μm of deviation. A Mic 6 plate this size is only guaranteed flat to 120μm. I'm sure it would be even flatter if it was not for the magnet, and bubbles under the sheet.
I finally found time to make a BOM, assembly drawings and release stl files for the Mostly Printed PTFE linear actuator I designed a while back. Its really neat if you are looking for cheap linear motion. You can find all the info on my github.
It seems like we have a hard time finding snowman parts so I made a snowman kit for my son.
I'm going to design more parts but I wont have time until after the holidays so I thought I would upload what I have done so far.
Pictures as soon as it snows. ⛄
Incase this helps anyone out, did you know plastic in your extruder gear can result in horizontal lines in you print that you may only be seen on tall prints? I was getting banding with my blades on the Muldex but only at the top so I thought someone was off on the Z. 1/2
Todays a big day for me!😆 I finally pulled the trigger to heat and finish the attic above my garage. Say hello to my future makerspace. Wall space is slim but I think I can make it work.
PS. Don’t hate on Jesus, he came with the house and it felt wrong to take him down.😂
Some people have labeled the Muldex as CoreXY but its actually a dual Markforged. I made this graphic to better explain the kinematics. Its similar to a CoreXY as the racking forces are equal but its doesn't have the same belt tension issues as each carriage has its own belt.
This hilt has interchangeable guards! There are three so far, there will be more too. Which is your favorite?
Plus since they don’t print in place, you can also put them on upside down if you prefer.
My members wanted to print a multi-color katana with a single extruder printer.
Happy little accidents... First I messed up the color swap on the guard which actually looks amazing, but then I forgot to swap colors on the top of the wrap.
Coming soon to a membership near you!

I can confirm that a double Mark Forged Kinamatic‘s work on

I was really worried about this, glad to be at this point already! Enjoying Duet so far.
