RT @mpenn_10: #Sorare: Problem? Solution? I’ve done some number crunching of a different nature this time round, along with some writing.…

@SorareClarky @McBrideAce @thaballbags It is the impact upon platform sustainability that should drive this decision IMO. Agreed, Observation and historical data are metrics that should be used as part of this.

@SorareClarky @McBrideAce @thaballbags You could be right, However to not even consider change in an ever changing marketplace could also be labelled as “negligent” and “irresponsible”

@McBrideAce @thaballbags Companies such as Blockbuster and Woolworths had nice fluffy roadmaps that they followed to the T. My point is when change comes as it is now in football it is prudent to re-evaluate any plans you made before that change. Also I have not once called for Saudi league inclusion.

@McBrideAce @thaballbags I respect your opinion. However from a Sorare perspective I would hope that they are: 1. Continually evaluating this ever changing situation. 2. Flexible and open to making any and all changes should it be deemed necessary.

@LarkhallRacing The individual player risk profile is not the question here. It is the risk to the Sorare platform that this potential Mbappe transfer presents.

@McBrideAce @thaballbags Sentiment should also be considered when making a decision. The only real mistake Sorare can make is to ignore the changing football landscape and it’s potential impacts for fear of looking “daft”

@LarkhallRacing I would argue risk 3 has the largest impact. £500k+ that 3 Mbappe cards generated is used to sustain the platform -Pay Threshold -Pay for licenses/experiences -Pay employees who grow the game Without this there is no larger group of players as there is no incentive to play.

@McBrideAce @thaballbags Sorare could license a single club in the Saudi league and then as per their guidelines/rules cover that league… The decision should be made based upon the impact that the Saudi league is having on Sorare’s business model and long term sustainability.

@McBrideAce @thaballbags Messi to MLS does not stop the Saudi’s buying football.

@LarkhallRacing Every card carries a risk profile, 1. Career ending injury 2. Retirement 3. Move to a League not covered 4. Benched 5. Death The Saudi league has massively increased risk No.3 happening to any card on the platform. The question is does this affect Sorare’s sustainability?

@FansSorare Agreed, when Ronaldo went to the league it was ignored, but Mbappe going could be a game changer.

@ImADuckQuackk Sorare provide a service within a market place that is changing quicker than anyone could have anticipated, questioning if they should change with it or not is not insanity but responsible
