#OTD #WxHistory #txwx. Sept 12-13, 2008. Hurricane #IKE strikes Texas. Ike didn't technically make landfall until overnight (9/13) but it was this date that conditions got desperate and lives changed . It had sustained winds of 110mph making it a strong Cat 2. It had Cat 5 surge.
