Rachel Reeves should tell this to her education colleagues at the next Cabinet - it neatly sums up Labour policy

'Shocked' they say, shocked - yet No 10 signed it off as it would never have got to parliament otherwise.

EXCL: Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson is under pressure from No10 over schools academy reforms. No10 said to be shocked by scale of the backlash to the Bill. No10 deny a rift. But Govt insiders says Bridget is "in the dog house" .

People who've run and improved schools: against Labour's bill. Militant union leaders: it's 'an exciting set of announcements'. It's not hard to work out who Labour's terrible bill was written for.

Excellent letter from @Miss_Snuffy - Labour's moves will undo all the progress that has been made in education over many years. Why would any government want to do that?.

Spot on from @michaelgove. And unlike the economy, where we get monthly & quarterly data showing how bad the impact of Labour's policies are, the damage of their trade union-sponsored ideology in education will only become clear over several years - and take many more to undo.

The Corbynistas may have lost the 2019 election, but it seems it didn't matter because they now get to run the Department for Education anyway. Take a look at how many of this Labour Government's education policies so far are actually from Jeremy Corbyn's manifestos: . 🧵.

All the militant unions wanted for Christmas was yesterday's Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill. Look how excited the NEU - the union that told teachers not to teach a full timetable or routinely mark work during the pandemic - is:

Just like that, all the progress made in recent years will be undone thanks to a combination of ideology, low expectations and giving in to union demands. Which is why I'm not celebrating having a state-educated Cabinet:.
