@AaronBastani @PatrickChristys @Nigel_Farage That’s a non-sequitur. Why should hardship mean hatred for one’s country? There was much greater hardship in the past but also a greater pride in being British. If those in charge were better able to articulate a positive narrative about the UK, the kids might change their minds.

What is it about cancelling cooks? Whatever their kitchen antics - whether it’s Gino or Greg - are they really the biggest threats to the nation’s women? Aren’t there other much bigger threats, and other much more vulnerable females that our media class might take an interest in?

@NicholasTyrone I’m sure something significant happened in 2020? Around March time if I remember rightly. Went on for a while and closed down the world economy. I’m clutching at straws here but maybe, just maybe, it might have had an impact?

I was never a big fan of Laura Kuenssberg. I stopped watching her Sunday morning show. But I never heard a bad word against her from those on the left. But in recent months I keep reading cutting comments - implying unfair treatment of Minister interviewees. What has changed? 🤔

@Dodge8444 No doubt. It’s not a straightforward matter of colonisers and subject nations in either case.

@Dodge8444 The Chinese example is interesting in the way it challenges the West. While it is strategic and exploitative, and its own workers tend to benefit as much as host countries in e.g. Africa, it is nakedly transactional too making it an attractive alternative to the domineering West.

@Fox_Claire @michael_merrick Though the system is swamped with demand not only is there, as you say, no interest in interrogating why. Those needs (whatever they might be) are not met and reflect wider problems outside of school. Meanwhile those with serious issues aren’t getting the support they badly need.

I do hope those who have lent moral authority to the sadistic bastards who murdered the families of the starved and brutalised hostages released yesterday, are deeply ashamed of their complicity in what Hamas and their associates have done to them and to the people of Israel.

Seeing the emaciated state of the hostages today, looking like they’ve just been liberated from a concentration camp - why are the legacy media not making their comparisons to the 1940s? What happened to all the Nazi and fascist comparisons?

@johncosgrove405 @Miss_Snuffy ‘In 2022, 2023 and 2024 the value-added (progress) score at GCSE was the highest for any school in England.’ Is this not the case?

To think there are supposedly respectable people in the West who at best turn a blind eye, at worst openly support, the monsters who did this to them.

They murdered their loved ones, starved them, and tortured them for over 480 days. Thank God they are finally free from Hamas.

Is it just me or do the last two or three PMs feel like imposters? Their personalities are hollow and forced. It’s as if they’re doing work experience. They’ve seen it on TV. They wear the suit and say the words. But the office doesn’t fit. It’s too big. They have nothing to say.

France seems to view itself as an extended episode of Eurotrash. Bring on the yellow vests.

Who listens to The Proms because they like Dr Who or Sam Smith? Besides their dubious merits - it’s a bit like going to McDonalds for the salad. Why is this quintessentially English, elite cultural institution ashamed of its international reputation as a classical music festival?

Do you ever get the feeling there has never before been such a whopping great chasm between the huge challenges we face and the mind blowing mediocrity of the political class?
