I feel like the AI replacing jobs discussion is one big Rorschach Test. SWEs giggle about "replacing doctors and lawyers". Finance people hype SWEs being replaced. AI cynics say whatever their job is will be fine. It's just an indirect way of stating one's beliefs.

@dgt10011 I agree. As "serious" jobs get automated, people will increasingly turn to gambling for meaning. Provides good opportunity for sophisticated traders and investors to be ahead of this.

Wintermute is cooked, and their CEO who cracks lamer jokes than my 7-year-old niece—might be heading to jail soon. You can even bet on it now on Polymarket. If there’s one thing crypto bros despise, it’s manipulators. We were sick of Do Kwon and SBF, and guess what? The government cleaned them up. I doubt Trump’s administration is happy about this mess either. What looked like a black swan was nothing but straight-up market manipulation. Wintermute accumulated OTC assets (mainly SOL, ETH, BTC) through Binance and Coinbase—then dumped ETH hard on the market, triggering an artificial crash. Meanwhile, they quietly bought back OTC at the bottom. Coinbase and Binance have been investigated for less. I’m really curious how this one unfolds. For now, I’m betting jail time for the CEO on Polymarket. Let’s see how this plays out.

Yeah, it's an absurd system. You pay an accountant $3K to figure out your taxes. It takes weeks of gathering documents and panicked phone calls. You pay at the last minute. Then you get a letter from the IRS a few months later saying "Akshually you owe another $16,372.41"
If we're doing government efficiency things, can we please fix the system where you have to guess how much tax you owe even though the IRS knows?
