Noah criticizing covid restrictions (in addition to him (kind of) praising Trump recently) is not a sign that he is becoming "based". It is a sign that the establishment wants to build enough unity in the country to go to war.

"Price gouging" is a scary term for a very good thing: prices increasing in response to scarcity. The higher price causes people to ration a highly demanded good, and causes profit-seeking firms to increase supply of that good.
This store in NYC was fined for price gouging. Was selling 8 ounce purell, which before all of this sold for $2.50, for $50 each, a 1900% increase (via @ninapineda7)

Update: The Russian flag people were Tankies. Possibly also counter-protestors (there's no way they didn't know that the rally was mostly seen as libertarian, and that the Russian flags would make it look bad). But they conclusively weren't libertarians.

Something about closed borders libertarians bothers me. Lots of libertarians are moderate. They have a few issues on which they're not fully libertarian, and they'll freely admit it. Some libertarians don't want to privatize the police or the roads. Some don't want to entirely.

Caplan is taking heat for this, and even has a community note, but he's right. Most sources say ~60-70% of Americans are vaccinated against tetanus. So there are >60 million unvaccinated. Even unvaccinated, your chances of dying of tetanus are less than 1 in 30 million.
My doctor talked to me like a child when I refused a tetanus booster. This disease kills about 2 Americans per YEAR!.
