I'm increasingly of the opinion that Twitter will suffer catastrophic failure before EOY, possibly much sooner. TLDR: I recommend Mastodon, and would look forward to seeing all my follows and followers there. (Brief thread.)

@anng27 Again, totally understood. As for me, it seems like the computer-industry half of my social network has mostly landed there, along with a growing chunk of the remainder. My best guess is that you will already find a lot of familiar names there.

@anng27 Agreed that Discord is okay for siloed community chat, but I wouldn't want to use it beyond that. Yeah, I use the term "fediverse" as an umbrella but do specifically mean Mastodon as the closest analog to Twitter.

@anng27 Totally understood. My take is that the fediverse is the current best choice for "agoric" style social network, despite — no question about it — many flaws.
