Have covered the Jazz and NBA for a lot of years. Mostly for @saltcityhoops and now help helping w/ the Jazz's Spanish-language broadcasts. Thoughts are my own.

@jpottingaround The "going through no matter what" is the important part here. So many teams could have taken 3.8M. Also, I think they were only a blind partner up to a certain point in the process, and what Zanik said on air reinforced that. The quote editing was very selective. CLICKZZZ!

@laragon98 Ben was All- NBA at his ceiling, 3-time All-Star, 2-time All-Defense. At his peak he was absolutely a top 15 player. Then whatever happened to his confidence and back happened. You're talking about what he is TODAY. I'm saying a Ben career arc for pick #29 would be AMAZING.

@RyanGarfield2 An All-NBA guy, a 5-time All-Star, and a guy who had a 10+ NBA career. Any of those outcomes would be a screaming success at the 29th pick.

@laragon98 An All-NBA guy, a 5-time All-Star, and a guy who had a 10+ NBA career aren’t great company? For a kid who was drafted 29th? We might wanna be a little more fair with expectations if that list is discouraging to people, lol.

@AustinClayton4 As far as I can tell, Jazz people really like Sexton and are glad they got him on a 4-year deal as part of that trade. Frankly, I think at this point it's more likely that he's scoring 15+ ppg on the next playoff Jazz team than that Key is, but maybe I'm wrong.

@AustinClayton4 (Even Collier is not close to a winning player yet, either. Having good veterans to hold their feet to the fire is not a threat to anything, and in fact both guys probably still need that at this phase.)

ICYMI, Ken did the math on what Utah's five new seconds actually cost them in terms of cash out. Really interesting look.
Nobody asked for an accountant's accounting of the Jazz's trade deadline, but @saltcityhoops has it anyway. Second rounders may not be sexy, but it's crazy how little Utah gave up to add 5 of them, plus a young wing they can evaluate for 2 months or more.

@bwfanzzz Yeah and in this game in particular, I'm just not sure how many of Utah's guys had ever been in that kind of a situation where you're in a game with this sort of heightened attention and emotion. Not worried, it just would have been a fun one to see them be more competitive.

@KSJack5 Key in particular loves to get the ball back with :11 on the shot clock and just sorta... dribble.
