The last fifty years or so was their first, second, and more chances. They didn’t do it. Hitting the pause and delaying the real work is exactly how nothing gets done. DOGE would lose momentum and the ‘honeymoon’ period would be over and it would become less and less likely that the necessary work would be done. We would drift back into the complacency that led to a $2 trillion deficit and rich Congress creatures. And a thoroughly unchecked, uncontrolled, and unelected bureaucracy comfortably skimming off our tax dollars. So no thanks. They had their chances and they blew it. Badly.

I voted for Trump (who I personally don’t particularly care for) precisely because of the team he put in place and with the belief that the team would do what he said they would do. Anyone who witnessed Musk’s takeover at Twitter and his response to the advertisers who boycotted him knew what was coming when he was turned loose on the government. This is exactly what we voted for. The condescending attitude of rich liberals towards people who disagree with them just shows how out of touch with reality they are.
