Proud to have this paper to be out, congratulations @KPrameKumar @MonashCID @SCSMonash, supported by funding from @heartfoundation @nhmrc @CSL
Ischemic stroke can lead to gut dysmotility by activating the sympathetic nervous system, changing intestinal nerve function. In mice, blocking this activation prevented dysmotility. Next: targeting nerve changes to improve patient outcomes. #AHAJournals

Check out the work of @KPrameKumar in collaboration with @sim_scientist @Dan_Poolio and @MHickey_IVM @MonashCID @SCSMonash. We revealed an underlying mechanism that mediates stroke-induced gut dysmotility.

Check out the work of @KPrameKumar in collaboration with the fantastic folks in @abud_helen's group. We discovered a previously unknown mechanism in brain-gut axis by which stroke triggers intestinal cell death and gut permeability. @MonashCID @SCSMonash

Proud to be part of the @MEGASCORES2022 team to work on translational and transformative research.
Dr Cameron Barstow from @cwonglab gives a great talk on development of a novel mouse model of live Gram-negative sepsis to assess interactions between vital organ-specific innate immune cells and bacteria with & without ascorbateπ¦ using intravital microscopy @M_Plums @Yugeesh_L
