May the 4th retro-computing hack. I know. There was a wrinkle in space time, and I am one day late 🫤. Hopefully it still counts. Original full length video from 2019 here: #Maythe4thBeWithYou #Retro #Computing #Hacks

My Teletypes attempt to sing Jingle Bells for you (you need the sound for this one). And they wish you a very merry #retrotech Christmas!

@DJSnM Here is the complete Nascom network. There is a lot more to it than the writer of this article does not appear to know nor understand. He was sure involved in a sub link part of it, but does not appear to have a grasp of the whole system.

@DJSnM The only thing that would make sense is that they used the 48 kb/s digital link to transmit the high bit rate downlink telemetry data back to Houston, which was 51.2 kb/s in its raw form from the moon, but was probably massaged down to fit in 48 kb/s after local decoding.

@DJSnM This story does not seem accurate. NASA didn’t transmit video over 48 kb/s digitized data. The video transmission circuits were analog and completely separated from voice and data.

@DJSnM The Polaris guidance system was the inspiration/ancestor for the Apollo guidance system.

@jeriellsworth @merklegroot @tiltfive That was June from Nybble and Bytes powering up her "new" HP 21MX for the first time. It came up, we got some blinken lights and a responsive front panel! Machine is from 1976. It has 32k of memory (!) with none of it working, as we quickly found out.

A new HP box-of-goodness was just delivered to the lab! It’s from 1972! US post office delay I guess 🤷‍♂️. What’s in it 🤔? Find out in my latest video
