@Lun4sch I'm actually a huge fan of being as explicit with your thesis as possible (assuming you hit your final close and it doesn't trigger general solicitation, unless you're 506c) a/ cuz SEO b/ good content strategy You'll end up refining the thesis over time regardless

Step 4: Ignore founders who haven't read website/blog/X/LI on their updated "prepared mind" thesis + optimize for founders who did their hw Step 5: Repeat Step 2 until $200-300M AUM, then go back to being vague again, heavily anecdotal, not all funds follow this process

Can't say I personally will allocate to a lot of spinouts. Only invested in 1 out of my entire portfolio so far, although have talked to high 10s/low 100s yes, I know not all spinouts are created equal, aka an associate spinning out is not the same as a partner/GP spinning out
