It HAS to be room temp tho— like sticking your finger in it n not feeling a difference. Makes it easier to pass thru your system ♡
3. 𝑻𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔
The first pic almost always works for me, but if you try the other methods, make sure to do the motions in a clockwise direction because that’s how your intestines are oriented ♡
2. 𝑬𝒂𝒕 𝑭𝒊𝒃𝒓𝒆
By eating fruits & veg, but also taking supplements can be really helpful. These are the two kinds I use (I switch off between the two; 2nd pic is old).
The second one used to have me RUNNING to the loo after getting halfway thru a glass 😂
4. 𝑬𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒍𝒐𝒘, 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒘 𝑳𝒐𝒕𝒔
Breaking down your food through more mastication (chewing) not only helps nutrient absorption, but also reduces constipation & bloating :)
Personally, I like to take small bites n chew til it’s basically mush before swallowing
Y’all prolly don’t need me to tell u how damaging lax is for your body but tldr you can get some nasty & permanent damage.
So with that in mind, here are other ways to make yourself shit that won’t give u colon cancer~
Some tips work immediately & others are habit changes ♡
5. 𝑯𝒚𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆
Water, veg/fruit juice, herbal tea, & clear soups all help promote bowel movements :)
Be wary of your caffeine intake tho. While coffee/caffeine does stimulate colon muscle activity, overdoing it can lead to some negative consequences down the line
6. 𝑬𝒂𝒕 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒔
Foods like avocados, nuts/nut butters, and olives contain healthy, unsaturated fats which lubricate the lining of your gut and make it easier to go
7. 𝑪𝒂𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒆
Sometimes if I’m really constipated, I find drinking a cup of coffee/an energy drink helps
This one isn’t as effective as the lukewarm water but might work in a pinch
Just be careful w/ how much caffeine u consume cuz it can be dangerous ♡
9. 𝑼𝒔𝒆 𝒂 𝑺𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒚
Propping your legs up relaxes ur muscles and makes it easier to get shit out (literally)
I’m cheap tho so I just use the lil trash can in our washroom cuz it works the same lol

I have another chronically constipated friend who says (I’m addition to a squatty potty) she’ll slowly move around, leaning back n forth n side to side until she find an angle that works 😂 it really does help tho

8. 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒕
If drinking room temp water & an abdomen massage doesn’t work, try applying heat to your stomach and/or back!
U can do this by taking a hot shower, using a hot water bottle/microwaveable stuffy, or a heated blanket (the last one’s what I do 🙃)
10. 𝑴𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒚
I’m not talkin goin to the gym n doin a full workout. Doing that while constipated is torture.
Goin on a brisk walk/short run can help, but also. Before I found out I have celiac, I was chronically constipated. So I used to do yoga (cont’d below)
