a lot of people there are fully-committed fascists of either "liberal" or "conservative" varieties and they don't envision anything else for themselves or anyone than the maintenance of that intolerable status quo.
A lot of liberals doing very well under the regime decided this week is a good week to rant incomprehensibly against a "revolution" nobody in the US - even the most staunch, uncompromising polemicists who preach nothing less (hi!) - thinks is imminent.
why are ppl arguing that it’s good to get arrested? i rly fail to see the benefits of intentional arrest as a tactic. is it necessary to sometimes risk arrest while doing everything in ur power to avoid it? yeah. but guys arrest is BAD, it’s isolating, traumatizing, & unhelpful
I hope people see Cori Bush losing as indicative of the emptiness and futility of progressive, Democratic Party "Squad" politics - and not an endorsement of them as a meaningful threat to these institutions themselves. There is no path toward necessary change through that party.
put another way, we are given so much grace on a regular basis - it's pretty amazing, given the broad base of fascism that fully supports the perpetuation of the empire in one form or another.
The only constituency this guy represents is the red-brown syncretism the CIA is trying to push to undermine any nascent left challenge within empire. Which, incidentally, is precisely how he's able to keep getting his face everywhere so easily.

She isn't meant to win. She's meant to preserve the legitimacy of the Democratic Party as "opposition" - which Biden, a white supremacist genocidaire could not do - and give them a moral case against those who refuse to vote for them.
i will be shocked if harris can win while continuing this tactic of denouncing protestors as antisemitic or unpatriotic (tho patriotism's a goofy santa claus feeling for babies). obv in 2020 the dems didn't fully embrace the blm marches, but they didn't malign them like *this*
This is who they are. This is who they've always been. This is who they'll always be - it's who they seek and the culture they nurture. And you cannot reform it.
Be non-violent they said. Don’t do anything to alienated passerbys they scolded. This climate-protesting cellist might get seven years in prison for playing Bach in a public park outside Citibank’s office. In liberal, deep-blue NY.
liberals confuse "campaigning" with "organizing" and always will. they don't organize anything - they run campaigns around candidates and election cycles. their ability to "organize" anything is limited to those campaigns and that's why their "resistance" withers in the interim.
Organizing under Biden has been much more difficult because liberals hate leftists. Organizing around Palestine has cost people jobs and opportunities. Dems in LA increase police budgets & hate poor people.
These libs are punching left at people that are actually on the ground.
I just think it's an easy out for a lot of us to dismiss fascism and its adherents as just "ignorant" instead of actually committed adherents to a murderous ideology.
According to the NYT, CIA & other US intelligence have been working around the clock with Israel, including providing advanced surveillance tech, to find Yahya Sinwar. For nearly 11 months, they have failed to find a man confined to a small strip of land Israel is occupying.
Biden does not need a “Hail Mary,” all he needs to do is pick up the phone and tell Netanyahu that if he doesn’t agree to the deal on the table then the weapons faucet gets shut off. This is PR
The US is so deeply fascist that a daddy-made racist landlord has to use AI to conjure anti-communist propaganda to use against his Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist-made actual cop opponent.
The biggest counterinsugency psyop this decade was turning the 2020 uprising's "policing: the home game" (e.g. online effots to ID the AutoZone guy, blame the 3rd Precinct on "infiltrators" and the Atlanta Wendy's fire) and - after J6 - fully deputizing liberal "antifascism."
My question to European and North American organizations is: how much longer will staid, docile, non-disruptive and permitted Saturday parades be the primary form of "protest" to genocide that you take before anyone even considers the "escalation" you're always talking about?
not cia, but a lifelong democratic party functionary and committed liberal who is very comfortable calling the cops over tweets if their personal political project is under even the mildest threat (protest).
The protest zone Chicago set up for the DNC is totally dead today.
A few dozen cops, several journalists, but zero protesters were there around 1:15 pm today. The city gave protesters a make-shift stage & big speakers. Twenty-nine groups signed up for spots this week.
They only arrested Chauvin after the 3rd Precinct burned to the ground. They only arrested Garrett Rolfe, who murdered Rayshard Brooks in June of 2020, *after* people burned down the Wendy's.
I’ve seen some people crediting Walz for Derek Chauvin’s conviction. And I feel like it’s an important time to remind people that a victory like that one, and others like it, only happen because movements of young people, activists, organizers, the community fought for it.
long-serving political prisoner Josh Williams was sent up largely because journalists filming protests in Ferguson gave their footage directly to the police, without even being asked to do so. don't trust em.
When CHP first arrived, a large group of the brownshirts who have been marauding against the student encampment ran right over to them and started chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!" The police let them stream right past them and then set up their line facing the camp.
Zionists are yelling how much they love the police lmao LOSERS
Many Zionists seem to believe that CHP is there to clear the camp but that's not the case and has not been ordered. So far, cops are forming a line a distance away from the camp.
As if the task for us is merely to show them the error of their ways, to educate them with rigorous tweets full of facts and the requisite opprobrium, rather than to destroy them and their ideology entirely. I wish that were the case, too, but if wishes were horses...
If you read up on how the CIA infiltrated and controlled the student movement in the 50s and 60s, you'd know there are people who are "read-in" on the op, but there's also just plenty of people who go along because it completely reflected their own liberal politics.

DeAndre Smith: "This is exactly what's supposed to happen when injustice is happening in your community." 💯
He spoke with the Post-Dispatch on Monday morning (Aug. 11, 2014) as the burned-out QuikTrip smoldered in the background.
I'll always remember that they put snipers on rooftops as "lethal overwatch" over college students, but I'll also always remember they don't even close the door behind them or do the least to secure their positions.
New Jersey father, Anthony Collins, sentenced to 3-years in prison after fatally punching white man who hit his wife with a bike and repeatedly called his children the n-word, Judge says he should have called the police instead.
Fucking around and calling tweets "dangerous," or worse, implying they present - in and of themselves - the threat of imminent violence against government officials on this mass surveillance app is some unseemly, unserious shit that can have serious and forseeable consequences.
I see her policies every day in the mangled bodies of children that float up my timeline into my nightmares
- and in the record-breaking number of killings by police. I don't need a punchlist on a webpage.
How fucking dare you lump those two pigs who died in a helicopter crash far from the scene while their cop buddies were facilitating this murder in with Heather Heyer, you shameless liberal ghoul.
Seven years ago today, we lost Heather Heyer and Virginia state troopers Jay Cullen and Berke Bates, three people whose lives were cruelly cut short when white supremacists descended on Charlottesville. We must remember and honor their memories by standing up against hate.
honestly, never-before-arrested white, cis or rich ppl need to do their 3 days and get OR'd at arraignment unless medical necessity or other factors weigh on the matter. we shouldn't be bailing misdemeanor first-time trespass arrestees and they largely shouldn't be seeking it.
proper de-arrest tactics, increased militancy and flexibility means less money redirected to bail funds from palestinian, sudani, congolese, etc. fundraisers.
People needed to be at this stage of recognition in October or even before, tbh. None of this "complicit in genocide" shit suffices. None of the "your taxpayer dollars are funding it," is quite enough either. There would be no occupation without the US. It is a US project.
atp we needa be real— america isn't just funding this genocide, it's actively committing it. palestinians themselves have said american soldiers have been on the ground in gaza.
I wish people would stop acting like AOC wasn't a Kennedy intern, instead embracing her own mythology that she emerged from some radical divebar and stormed Washington, DC with a flamethrower. She was always well-connected and well-grounded in the prevailing, liberal realpolitik.
Do people understand? What UCLA students did?…
They went to battle with a violent Zionist mob for 4+ hours. Their only protection was themselves & the community that mobilized
THE NEXT NIGHT!! UCLA admin sent in 500+ cops to raid the camp & make 150 arrests.
Militant youth🫡
The Democrats quietly dropped abolishing the death penalty from their party platform. This is the first time since 2012 the platform doesn't call for abolition and the first time since 2004 there's no mention of the death penalty at all
The "good protesters" have arrived...
"Uncommitted showed remarkable message discipline and highlighted a set of demands that, unlike many of those aired in pro-Palestinian demonstrations of the past few months, could have been shared by many Zionists and Israelis."
“If the pro-Palestinian movement in the U.S. sets aside its campaign to delegitimize Israel … it can find reliable allies in the mainstream of American politics to support a future of peace and coexistence,”

We do not talk to cops. We do not praise cops. We do not work with cops. And we sure as fuck do not vote for them.
You'd think they thought we were about to liberate their cats, lop off their heads and ruin their influencer gravy trains, massing up outside their YouTube studios with pitchforks and guillotines at the ready. Instead, it's clear they're just disciplining their flocks to vote.
The hateful glare and the "try me" head tilt from a cop like her certainly suggest she's thrown people in dungeons for less, which she actually has.
Very Trump 2016. Maybe she'll get the crowds to try to beat us up like him, too? What will you liberals say about violence then?
It's not working and we won't let it. What we're seeing is people who've always been in the bag for empire expose themselves as such. And it appears to be working, admittedly even to me, only because these apps are designed to boost takes that serve power and leave us alienated.
do you guys see what is happening. just when biden was beginning to lose support, just when young ppl were beginning to think...maybe the democrats are a fascist party, they retire him and bring in copmala. pure counterinsurgency. and it fucking worked. it worked on all of you.
This egotistical "right" or "need to know" is a big part of it. If you are engaged in militant struggle, understand there are things you shouldn't know. Knowing some things would put you at greater risk. Some amount of compartmentalization/siloing is going to be necessary.
The biggest thing people can practice to kill the cop in their heads is just...letting shit go. You don't actually have to know everything about everything and the desire to dig can lead you down bad paths if you don't keep it in check.

First SWAT team in Amerikkka was developed by Southeast Asia counterinsurgency forces for domestic use against Black radicals, specifically the BPP, and was first deployed in the failed siege of LA's BPP headquarters and 41st and Central.
The LAPD went after this program so viciously that in one case of looting they came into the church where the BPP held this free breakfast program locked and loaded pointing guns at 45 black kids eating breakfast.

I believe VP Kamala Harris and her VP pick Tim Walz are our best chance to move forward. They are our best chance to push back on encroaching fascism and threats to democracy, and our best chance for creating the world we all desire and deserve. Politics is
The way they're able to conjure the inner-cop in some people - especially big accounts with huge followings and an incentive to generate engagement - is fucking diabolical.
It’s midnight in Chicago. Uncommitted delegates are continuing their sit-in.
They want the DNC to let a Palestinian American speak. The DNC hasn’t budged so far.
“Power cedes nothing without a demand,” US Rep. Summer Lee says.
Here at the DNC and for an idea of how this week of protests are gonna go literally 3 anti abortion protesters showed up an hour or two into a 2-3k person march to yell. Like two dozen cameras and reporters instantly surrounded them. See how much bigger the media crowd is here.
Nobody with any sense is going to ask someone they just met to participate with them in a crime at a "national security event," because conspiracies necessitate mutual trust and obligation, so if someone you just met insists you join them in one, it's at least a big red flag.
Folks who are traveling to Chicago for the DNC, please be careful about who you connect with. If you meet strangers who are talking big game about doing "epic" shit, ask yourselves why they're saying these things to someone they don't even know.
Republicans are going to call Dems “communists” whether they’re Kamala Harris or Bernie Sanders. That’s always going to be their schtick. The mistake is when Dems try to moderate their positions in hopes of dodging this because they never will and that’s the point.
USians don't have to imagine too hard.

Navarro: Let's be serious. Donald Trump and his minions call Kamala a communist. I know communism. I fled communism from Nicaragua when I was 8 years old. I don't take it lightly. And let me tell you what communist dictators do. And it's never just for one day. They attack the
Abolitionist, but there are they, policing everyone to the most moderate position existing from their undeserving platforms in the face of multiple genocides and an increasingly agitated world.
They created a couple of "antifa" thoughtleaders, boosted their influence, gave them lucrative book deals, non-profits and other branded opportunities - and those dorks encouraged a generation to believe scouring video footage and doxxing is the epitome of antifascist action.
every single fucking time. some half-assed psyop from the fucking peanut gallery about "infiltrators" or "provocateurs" gets 100,000 dipshits to self-deputize and start scouring through footage and motherfuckers never learn.
The Sedition Hunters account going after protesters in DC at the Palestine actions today is un-surprising. Somehow doxing people spray painting stuff is worth the same energy as J6 insurrectionists.
@loomdoop
We handed out chalk at LA's DTLA Art Walk in 2012 and the LAPD started a riot. Alex made a blog post celebrating the LAPD's violent crackdown (which he has long since deleted because it was bad for his business) and whining about not being able to sell paintings. He sucks.
We have this lamentable compulsion to wonder if - or even hope that - the executioner pulling the switch on someone feels bad about doing it, rather than committing ourselves to stop them from pulling the switch at all or on anyone ever again. Or destroying the switch itself.
What I do frequently here is people with a lot more to lose - status, access to power, material wealth - and a brand to protect try to weaponize those very people and guilt others into their milquetoast, liberal compromises to assuage their own moral cowardice.
She's definitely in the Italian police's athletic group and both her parents were cops. "Angela Carini was born in Naples in 1998 to a father and mother who were both police officers."
I think a helpful way to look at it might be that liberals want to be given permission to celebrate all the same things their supposed-counterparts openly praise, but they need someone they respect to give that permission to them in a way they can admire.
This is a non-sequitur. While it's true movements have "moderate flanks," that doesn't itself suggest any "need" to work "inside the Democratic Party."
Communists didn't fail to stop Nazis in 1930s Germany because they didn't have enough people "working inside" the Nazi Party.
Successful movements have radical, progressive & moderate flanks. We need ppl working inside the Democratic Party & we need grassroots organizers & we need protesters. Find your position & play it, but don’t fight your teammates bc they play a different position.
Short Thread: They are endorsing Kamala Harris now.
Waleed Shahid has a history of coopting organic movements, starting a website, collecting lists through petitions, moving that into "Democratic Party reformation), then making watered-down requests, and then closing up shop...
It doesn't need to be studied anymore. It has been documented and plainly described for decades. They are the graveyard of social movements and a model for controlled opposition everywhere. They're the Washington Generals, but who get a few more "W's."
