Our Sixth Form Open Morning is on Saturday 9th November 10.00-12.30 and sign-ups are coming soon on our website! Here are Scarlett and Lottie doing an excellent job talking about all things Sixth Form at Park Lane Academy’s Post16 event this afternoon!
It is with great sadness that we share the news that our former colleague and hugely respected teacher, Steve Wilson (Head of Economics, retired 2014), passed away yesterday. He was the kindest of men.
Any Y11 students planning to do A-level Maths, Chemistry, Physics or Biology: these CGP “Head Start to A-level” books are free to download now (you don’t need a kindle, just a smartphone). Grab them while you can!
We emailed our own Y11s but please share with any others you know.
Huge congrats to our Y12 student Niamh O’Connor who this week became the youngest and only female referee in West Yorkshire for Rugby Union.

Immensely proud of these boys who played so well at the Yorkshire Cup Final tonight. It wasn’t to be, but their sportsmanship was exemplary. Congrats to HGS who took the trophy 19-13. Superb performances from both sides.

Parent Power guide today, of the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK ranked by recent exam results.
This week’s stunning shots of Crossley Heath are from Mrs Henson, with these gorgeous pictures taken from C floor. How beautiful does our building look in the autumn sunshine?
Shout out this morning to our teachers and support staff who are continuing to come in to school to support to those families in critical frontline roles.

Given the extreme weather conditions seen today we have not been able to make the school site safe for students and staff. In the light of continued disruption & forecast bad weather, we will therefore be closed on Friday 2 March.
🌟 Congratulations to our Y13s on their superb exam results! 🌟
We have seen a significant increase in top grades since our last A-level results in 2019, including more than doubling of the percentage of grades at A*. We are proud of you all!
Max Burgin take a bow 🔥

Thank you to Mr Barber for providing PPE to keep local GP (and ex Crossley’s student!) Dr Sharma and patients safe. She says “I was never good at DT but have managed to assemble this one!”

A constant presence of grace and decency in a world that continued to change around her. An exceptional person and a warm voice amongst times of despair. A Queen who unified the people she dedicated her life to. May Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, rest in peace 🕊
Very proud of Head Boy Fabrizio de Vito, a finalist in a national competition by the Political Studies Association and

. Fabrizio’s blog discussing “Is British politics broken?” impressed the judges & he and Mr Schofield were invited to Speakers House this week!
Thursday 1 March. Due to unsafe conditions on site and on roads plus the local authority’s advice against all but essential travel, school is CLOSED today.
Say hello to our new Head Boy and Head Girl - Sai and Sloka!
They’re looking forward to their year of representing the school and working on our students’ behalf. Congrats to both of them on their appointment!
On Remembrance Sunday we remember the teachers and students of Crossley and Porter, and Heath schools. This is Captain Albert Ernest Mander, deputy head for 10 years - he died at Passchendaele in 1917 leading his men into battle, his body was never found.

Take care, have some time off and enjoy the unusual Easter 'break’”

Emotional moments for many of our Y13s at school this morning. We could not have imagined a results day like today but are so proud of our students’ hard work and resilience in the face of adversity. We wish them much luck going on to their next adventures!
Well done to these members of staff and all the others (20 in total) who completed a Level 2 course in Understanding Children’s and Young People’s Mental Health. All levels of staff completed the course including teachers, midday supervisors, SLT and support staff!
