i would think about this in he context of the ninety nine names of god. he is الودود (the loving one) but we wouldn’t say he experiences love. or he is الصبور (the patient one) but we wouldn’t say he has the capacity to be patient, we would say he is patience

because emotions are a feature of creation. if we were to think that god has emotions, we would be associating characteristics of creation with the creator. it would be the same as thinking that god has a gender or a race
