D1.1 strain Bird Flu.
@suezybees We aren't only talking about animals now. D1.1 is the strain that killed a person in Louisiana and caused life-threatening illness in a teenager in Canada. It is different from the one known to be circulating in dairy cows which has caused only relatively mild illness in humans.

Stay safe. Flu A is high and the others are out there too!
My hospital is at capacity with at least 6 patients boarding in the ED waiting for inpatient rooms. We got a ton of respiratory illness in here: covid pneumonia, bacterial pneumonia & influenza & a number of septic patients. Seniors are getting hit especially hard by flu A. 😷

Yes! We need to get a grip on this!
For two years I've been screaming this into an empty void: H5N1 bird flu does not need to go human to human for it to cause incalculable damage to the way humans live. 300 million birds are dead because of it already, and it's still going. It's reshaping the natural world.
