I'm nobody, but some have asked me if Bichette or Springer is to blame for Crawford's bloop, three-run double on Saturday.
I saw two players giving their maximum effort to catch a fly ball.
I'm not blaming anyone.
Happy Birthday to outstanding Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster,
@CDNBaseballHOF
Jack Graney Award winner and Western University grad Dan Shulman (
@DShulman_ESPN
)!
Small sample size I know, but . . .
Blue Jays Buffalo Bisons' triple-A call-ups with runners in scoring position:
Davis Schneider - 6-for-13 (.462)
Ernie Clement - 7-for-8 (.875)
Spencer Horwitz had a big hit today.
Bisons hitting coach Matt Hague deserves a raise.

Happy 62nd Birthday to former Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons!
I like to think this would be his reaction after wishing him a Happy Birthday:
#BlueJays
With apologies to the 1992 and 1993 teams, this is this middle-aged Canadian baseball junkie's favourite Blue Jays' lineup.
OK, maybe Mulliniks would be at third, but other than that . . .
This is the 1985 team.

Please take a moment to remember Tom Cheek who passed away on this date 18 years ago at the age of 66.
He was the voice of my summers as a child.
I sure do miss him.
#BlueJays
I've followed the Blue Jays religiously since 1985.
This year's team is definitely the most frustrating.
And I'm old enough to remember the last week of 1987.
Happy Birthday to the wonderful and inspirational Jamie Campbell (
@SNETCampbell
)!
He is a kind, thoughtful and selfless guy, who, like me, has a deep fondness for those early Jays teams.
I've been thinking about him a lot these days and continue to try to send him strength.

This happened 38 years ago today (See video).
Buck completed a double play with a broken leg (!).

Rest in peace, Jimy Williams.
Lots has been written about him as a manager, but not enough about him as a coach and a truly decent guy.
I've had several ex-Blue Jays tell me that Williams was the best baseball coach/teacher they ever had.
My condolences to his family.

I've never met him, but he sure seems like a wonderful guy. He was a bright light on the Blue Jays in a very challenging season.
I hope he's had a great day.

This will never happen, but the Blue Jays' best September call-up might be Buffalo Bisons' hitting coach Matt Hague.
Check out how much Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Nathan Lukes and Rafael Lantigua improved from their 2022 seasons with Hague in 2023.

Happy 77th Birthday to Reggie Jackson!
