Come a join me next Tuesday for a field walk & discussion looking at time of day x herbicide (gly / glu / Gr14 and mixes) x weed size. Timing should be ideal to pull apart treatment differences.

@Oscarthefarmer Might not be all wasted Oscar. If it had 4 hours then most of the cleth and haloxy would be into the plant. A significant amount of the gly will also be in. But not all. Hard to know exactly how much as it will depend on temp, humidity, formulation and species.

Worth a read for those considering drone application. Effective swath width reduces by > 20% when a crop canopy is involved, compared to spraying stubble or bare ground.

A drone's effective swath width is far shorter in crop canopies (we tested corn, wheat and soybean) than it is on bare ground. That means it will require more passes than expected to get uniform coverage. Learn more in our latest article:

@phil_honey @paulD74465326 @CotLmesonet Agree there are other uses for the data. And these systems (& lots of other Ag Tech) need outside funding to get off the ground. But ultimately all systems will need a long term funding model that is funded by ongoing users. Good for you if WA Govt subsidises - but for how long?

@paulD74465326 @CotLmesonet At $540 per year for the top tier package I can't believe that price is the issue. That's less than a 20L drum of most products or a set of nozzles. Must be some other reason??

@phil_honey @paulD74465326 @CotLmesonet Why should Govt, or anyone else apart from the applicator, fund it? The expectation should be that pesticide never leaves the paddock under any circumstance. Up to the applicator (and nobody else) to ensure that happens.

@honneragri @CotLmesonet Agree. If this fails due to lack of financial support from a very modest subscription fee then this will also be sending a massive signal to Ag Tech investors.

@DMAg_consultant @agrobaz That's a very old imazapic label Matt. The plant back statements have been updated at least twice since that version. Suggest getting a copy of the Adama Impose label for the most recent plantbacks

@Dan_Feder88 @MartinMurray_Ag @therealbiztang Agree. Daughter is specialising as a rural based large-animal production vet, so is on a much better deal than most of her cohorts. She managed to pay $7k in first year, which basically equalled the inflation of the account balance.

@agrobaz @Dan_Feder88 @MartinMurray_Ag @therealbiztang Depends how desperate the employer is. If you are an inner city cat & dog vet doing spays and vaccinations then the salary is pretty sad versus the cost of the degree. High demand /specialist roles attract large sign-on bonuses and/or large annual salary increases

@Dan_Feder88 @MartinMurray_Ag @therealbiztang Daughter recently graduated as a vet. Over $110k HECS bill at 23yo, and average starting salary of $60-70k for most of the grads. That is prob 10years to pay off before starting to think about buying a house. Would you take that on that investment?

@GeezaColeman From my perspective, most technology providers consider that their job is 'done' once the solenoid accurately turns on. There is a large missing gap to understand product rates, spray quality, residues in crop, herbicide carry over etc especially as we move into GoG
