got into bed and my 95% asleep gf just asked if the wolves won. I said yes and she went "awwwoooooo" and then turned over and fell back asleep.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has agreed on a five-year designated rookie maximum deal that could be worth $260 million, his agents Bill Duffy and Joe Branch of WME tell ESPN.
denver nuggets fewest points in a quarter this season

ok, here's the plan: win game 4 (don't get swept), and then win game 5 at home for the true blooded fans. then maybe just fuck around and win game 6 because why not?
somewhere deep in the recesses of Target Center, a small group of employees is scrambling to get the arena rights to the Law and Order "dun dun" noise in preparation for a NAW steal or Jaden block during tonight's game
honestly, i don't think the national media should pay attention to the timberwolves. just let us fly under the radar until the playoffs. then, boom! you gonna have to cram facts on who is jaden mcdaniels and naz reid and jaylen nowell
"player's coach" is letting your best player go for a career high on the first night of a b2b against a worst team in the league when your 2nd game is one of the highest leverage games in the season against playoff rival for home court throughout the west
Latest Wolves: The first of 4 parts of what has become my annual preseason interview with coach Chris Finch is up. Topics this segment include getting Jaden more involved in the offense and experimenting w/a "3 bigs" frontcourt of KAT, Rudy and Naz.
I think Everyone should be rooting for the Timberwolves to win the championship this season not because they're my favorite team but because it is by far the funniest possible semi-realistic outcome
Nuggets opponents sorted by series PPG
1. Anthony Edwards 32/5/5
2. Devin Booker 31/5/8
3. Kevin Durant 30/10/5
4. Lebron James 28/10/10
5. Anthony Davis 27/14/2
6. Bam Adebayo 22/12/3
7. Jimmy Butler 21/5/6
just something to think about
Game 5 of the Wolves/Grizzlies series. The Wolves have now had more games on national TV in the NBA playoffs (5) than they did in the entire regular season (4).

@nba
i'm gonna need you guys to figure out how to include defensive highlights in your videos, this 'every made basket' stuff isn't gonna cut it with this wolves team
Kyle Anderson’s impact this season has been profound
A few SloMo stats:
-AST% of 26.0 (2nd highest in the NBA)
-AST:Usg ratio of 1.63 (highest in NBA)
-defensive rating of 100 (3rd best in nba)
kyle said target center will be "rowdy" on Friday, and that feels like an understatement. the fans smell blood in the water too; it's going to be hell.
I assume Ricky really doesn't want to play in the NBA, given the guaranteed salary he might be giving up and that the Cavs really need a point guard rn. THAT SAID...
the ringer has yet to publish an article about the wolves' playoffs, but a reminder that michaelpina wanted them to take a charlotte hornets style path to developing Ant rather than "skipping steps" by putting him in the playoffs with good players
I asked Timberwolves Rudy Gobert what it would mean to win a 4th Defensive Player of the Year Award
Gobert: “…I wake up to be the best defensive player in the planet…”
per Fischer: "Kyle Anderson is another forward who will pursue the full mid-level exception, sources said, and the Timberwolves are prepared to lose their versatile veteran on the open market."
it's so fuckin sick that each of Ant, KAT, and Rudy had at least two iconic plays in that last stretch - KAT the jimmy muscle and oreb/Ru lob; Ant the two impossible middies; Rudy the two insane game changing blocks
what if target center finally becomes synonymous w hopelessness for opposing teams to play in. you go up north and the cold just sucks out your will to win. then the futility of driving on rudy gobert. the pain at ant stepback 3s. the icy coolness of naz reid juking off the dribb
corny as it is, the Tee Morant / Big Karl aspect of the Wolves / Grizzlies continues to be among the most heartwarming stories of the young generation of the nba. Ant getting in on the action there at the end with Tee.
man, what a great season. we knocked off the defending champs which was insane! maybe got out over our skis a bit, but also lost these 3 games by only a handful of points. it was completely worth it. Ant will come back better than ever next season - can't wait to see how.

Wolves bench has been destroying top heavy capped out teams. it's not the greatest assemblage of players in the world, but when you have 4 or 5 legit "7th guys", it can put a lot of pressure on opposing teams to keep pace. any given game, two of Naz/Beas/TP/Nowell/Jaden go off
when the wolves win: "wow, so cool that I get to stay up until 2am posting and then spend 6-8 hours tomorrow listening to pods!!!"
when the wolves lose: "holy shit, I have to chug 4 pints of water, sleep for 6 hours, and furiously work on my tenure file for 10 hours at least..."
The failure of the Timberwolves sale is horrific. But it's times like these that we should reflect on our nation's values. Was the failure of the sale due to the Timberwolves DEI policies? My column:
the Timberwolves had the 3rd highest bench scoring in the league last year, and their 2nd unit adding Beasley is looking like Ricky/Beasley/Bolmaro/Vando/Naz
i am excite
ESPN Sources: Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has suffered a left meniscus injury, but it remains unclear about how much, if any, time he’ll be required to miss. Towns and team are working to get full understanding of degree of injury and whether it demands immediate action.
