Those artists are opportunists who build a brand by appropriating the aesthetics & themes of liberation and resistance. They are careerists who take side with oppressive power in real life, either through their indifference or deafening silence.
Question for the culture. If an artist uses themes of liberation and fighting against oppressive forces in their art but has been silent about an ongoing genocide is that weird?
