Reckless shoulder to the head. Cormac Egan replaced at ht, probably concussed.
This is a red in rugby but not in hurling, it seems. Numerous similar hits have gone unpunished this year.
GAA has a duty of care to protect players from these serious head injuries

Really nasty off the ball shoulder on Cian Kenny in the Dublin Kilkenny game today. Yet another example of a highly dangerous challenge going unpunished in hurling at the moment.

If Kildare beat Offaly tomorrow in Division 2A Final, for the 1st time ever they will play in National Hurling League Division 1.
A county with huge population & lots of hurling clubs…massive potential for growth.
Yet GAA don’t fix it for Croker & it’s not even on tv 🙈🙈🙈
It really is mind-boggling that the footballers have a festival of League finals in Croke Park while the hurlers in Division 2 and 3 have standalone fixtures away from the limelight in provincial venues. Genuine question: what does the GAA have to fear from mid-ranked counties?

The argument could be made that it’s too much for 16-17 year olds playing in front of 82,000. They will get their chance again at senior level, but what an occasion it would be for Joe McDonagh finalists (who give equal commitment) to play on hurling’s greatest day!

This type of challenge can cause a serious head/neck injury. He leaves the ground to give a shoulder to the head area of a defenceless player travelling at speed. It’s been outlawed in the NFL. Should have been red.

Met Jim yesterday. 78 years old and still enjoys exercising every day. Told me he was recently diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy so he has started using a pole on his hikes. Not a bother on him climbing 1900 ft. Inspirational man 👊

If he suffered a significant tear to his hamstring he simply would have been unable to ‘gallop’. Probably had a grade 1 strain....Junior club hurlers play on with these every week 😂
To think that Brian Lohan pulled his hamstring with 20 minutes to go in the '95 All-Ireland final..and then galloped out with ball after ball to inspire Clare to a famous win 🏆
