Sporting Director, owner/operator of TSS Football Club in Vancouver BC, passionate/opinionated basically a soccer pirate -snuck into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame
Observed a U11 girls game yesterday. Team plays back to their GK. Not an attacker in sight. Ball slips under this 10 yr olds foot. Into the goal. The adults attached to the “goalscoring” team erupt and celebrate like they have won the lottery. What on earth is wrong with people?
The best 12 year olds are rarely, rarely ever the best 18 year olds. We need to continue to be patient. Like a fine wine. It’s a late developing sport, always has been always will be.
@TSSRovers
Totally speechless. When you start a business you work backwards from selling it one day. In 2016 we sat down and said “how do we get to play in the Canadian Championship?” And set off on the most non linear journey imaginable. Thanks to everyone who believed. 🙏
@TSSRovers
Today
@TSSAcademy
has sent in our letter of intent to apply for the National Youth Club License. We would like to thank both
@CanadaSoccerEN
and
@1BCSoccer
for the opportunity and look forward to the process over the coming months 👍
Tsawwassen native, Lauren Elmes, signs with

So the US and Canada out at Womens U20. The evidence continues to grow on University based rosters not being at the standard as the professional platforms start to establish themselves around the world.
It’s not just the position in the table and the fact there is a zero under the L column, it’s how we have gotten here with the process and performance. In the past this would have been seen as punching well above our weight. Not anymore 👍💪👏
@CanadaSoccerEN
👍. A number of these players started with us at U11. Never played in “leagues”. It’s an interesting experiment and journey. The “players need to be in top competitive leagues through youth” is an oversold notion.
Massive congratulations to
@TSSAcademy
U21s on winning the
@VMSLsoccer
U21 Cup in their first season in the league after a 2-1 final victory over BC Tigers. John Joseph got them up and running with a 7th minute bicycle kick, then Euan Aitchison got the winner with about 10 to go.
So one of our Canadian players makes a big move to Inter Milan and gets in the substitutes immediately (huge) and there are people in our country going off about how he didn’t get on for his debut. Give your head a shake. This is current top of Serie A and CL finalists 🤦♂️
After a 25 yr hiatus I returned to the

Banks and lenders: you cannot be the ones who win here. Just deferring is not going to work. Like everyone in the financial chain you will need to “give” in the next few months. It’s your responsibility. Get it done.
In yesterdays Women’s
@TSSRovers
game one of our players had her front tooth broken in half. Not only did the tooth get found post game on the field another one of our players parents who are dentists jumped into action. Within a few hours post game the tooth was like new again!
Very proud of all of our players and coaching staff. Some amazing performances this first season. But this is not just about the football on the pitch. Our Operations Group have done an absolutely amazing job preparing and presenting our Club at Swangard. Bravo 👏👏.
@TSSRovers
Canada Soccer is saddened to learn of the passing of Tony Waiters. Tony was a tremendous ambassador for the game and led
#CanMNT
into the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Our thoughts are with the entire Waiters family.
Coached this young fellow starting when he was 1 (ok maybe he was 8). Was in our first ever boys team at U11 all the way up to U18. Debut start in the semifinal of the Cup. Set up the second goal last night and was pretty flawless in his 65 mins. Well done Chris Schmit. 👍👏💪
Very proud of our little club

Met this guy 32 years ago.We disconnected for a time but over the last 10+yrs we have come close to communicating almost every day.He has been integral to our programming direction in almost all facets.And will continue to be.Just from a little farther away.

Outcome aside this is how you “win” with nights like last night in the Canadian Championship. My entire U13 Girls team together watching the game taking it all in. 👏👏

UBC Thunderbirds mourn the passing of legendary long-time soccer coach Dick Mosher - University of British Columbia Athletics
We currently have ZERO players from British Columbia in our Men’s National Team. This needs to be fixed and it needs to start now. Everyone get to work. Not good enough.
Very fortunate to be in a final this coming Sunday. Sport is always quick to remind you that no one is entitled to anything. We will attempt to put our best foot forward at Swangard on August 4th.
@TSSRovers
Today I attended two soccer games that had pretty well zero spectators in attendance under the new restrictions that are present in our region. Meanwhile my wife went to Walmart and it was crawling with people. This makes no sense to me whatsoever 🤷♂️
So is watching your kids play soccer on a 70,000 sq ft field outside with 22 players. Which by the way is 3181 sq ft per player. More sq. footage than an average house 😁
Dr. Henry says the risk is not on the ski hill. Acknowledges going skiing is important for a lot of families. Says they are working with industry groups for a community based approach.

Busy this weekend on final preparations for having our

These will be our match balls moving forward for
@TSSAcademy
and
@TSSRovers
from U13 up. You want your players to be able to touch and strike a ball properly give them something to work with. Always been a priority for us. Spend the money. It’s worth it.
This is just surreal stuff for me. If someone had said back in 2016 when we first engaged this level of play that this would be happening in 2023- I would have said not a chance

Not the way we wanted the season to giveth, football taketh away.Thanks to all the players, staff, supporters and owners for all your support and hard work 👍👊.Taking some time away now then back to reflect on how to take this up another notch
@TSSRovers
There needs to be less time spent on out of possession disruption at the U11-14 ages and more time spent teaching the players how to keep the ball and comfortably play in each 1/3 of the field.
Too many people on here to properly acknowledge for their support and contribution over the last many weeks. Our

The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.
Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.

Canada Soccer announces latest Coach Education A Licence cohort - Canada Soccer
A Women’s professional platform is one important piece here for certain but we need to do a much better job at teaching our youth players how to play across this country and not continue to take short cuts that solve immediate outcome problems.

Grade 12 now. One in Grade 11. Trampled on the scoreline that weekend. 6 on their way into U Sport. 5 into soccer 1 into softball. Late developing sport....
Finished our

for the holiday break tonight. That was some journey. The kids were all fantastic for the last 6 months considering what they had to go through. Battery re-charging time.
That was a spectacle. A Football Rembrandt it was not 😂. But the drama and tension was epic. Full credit to
