There are a large number of people in this country that wake up every day looking for something to be mad about.
That's the whole issue.
@nikitabier
How much $? When i was broke with a newborn I went to a Goodwill store, posted their furniture on Craigslist at 200% of their price, and sat in the parking lot til I had a buyer. Usually made ~$100 after work and before dinner time every day of the week.
@growing_daniel
Yes and (counterpoint) I never saw my parents fight & I'm now conflict averse to a fault. I didn't experience watching adults resolve disagreements & go on loving each other. I am glad they didn't fight in front of us because its better than the opposite. Still some downside.
@oldenoughtosay
A patron insisted he paid with a 100. Bartender "Charles I swear he paid with a 10." Charles pulls 100 out of the register, hands it to patron, and says "get the #### out of our bar and don't come back." Then went back to his office to place the produce order.
@MrKyleHenderson
You mean the same Kansas State team that has fewer losses than the LSU team that beat Bama. And the TCU team that has fewer losses than Bama itself.
You guys are hilarious. The internet is laughing at you. At least Vols fans (still better than Bama) have some dignity.

Surprised to see so many negative replies. I've had as many as 4 FT jobs at the same time throughout the last decade & rarely fewer than 2. I've always told the boss and said "judge me on my work." And all of them have been happy. My job is Colin, Inc. The rest is details.
@BiasedHouston
1. U assume those picks had a market
2. U assume the players weren't given a shot. MAYBE the team had them graded a certain way pre-draft and they DIDNT meet expectations.
3. U assume this isnt doing the agents a solid for future consideration.
All of you assume alot.

Cam over JG. Keep finding Amen minutes. Take your time bringing Bari back. Let JG run the second unit and get his confidence back if possible.
@buggeroaf
Your startup didn't make you bankrupt, divorce and homeless. You did that on your own (while working on a startup).
Romanticized struggle-porn is super boring.
"We need a sales rock star!"
No you don't. You need a competent and completely average salesperson that can hit their number.
You can't scale hiring "rock stars."
You CAN scale hiring reliable professionals executing a defined playbook around a quality product or service.

My employers know I'm 100% coin operated. They design my comp to drive the behavior/outcomes they desire. I actually think they find the honesty refreshing and enjoy knowing that they pay for an outcome, not my obedience between 8a and 5p.

Notion for all SOPs, training, videos, reporting, CRM, etc. Incredibly simple to set up an entire company playbook using Notion.
ChatGPT for logos. Save the 299.
Synup for directories and review monitioring/management.
Sendible for managing social for all my businesses

Suggestion: you STILL are nowhere niche enough. Too many competitors. Something like "helping startups in the petroleum engineering space migrate K8s to Azure" (for example) is getting closer.
If you want to start a company and have no idea what to sell, sell time. Sell writing blogs or walking dogs or cleaning data or picking up laundry.
The fastest way to start a business that makes money is to sell time.
Don't ever refer to something someone else is doing as a "side-" item. Hustles, businesses, music/band, art...a lot of people believe their future is in what they are doing in their off-hours. The 9 to 5 is the "side" item, not the other way around.
@John3_and_16
@nikitabier
I didn't buy the item until i had a committed buyer on the way to meet me. Yes, it was possible that $10 filing cabinet I was selling for $20 would be sold before I could go in and get it but (luck) that never happened. My $ float was never more than about half an hour.
@JHTScherck
Organic content needs to be a part of a broader strategy and NOT the lead part, sad as that is. Content should support the buyer's journey just like social. SEO as a way to generate meaningful pipeline on its own is a thing of the past.

I worry about people this stupid trying to navigate day to day life.
Do you also smoke cigarettes because you were originally told they weren't addictive or bad for you?
@Jon_Ayre

Interesting prediction considering you don't know what I'm trying to learn/accomplish. The bigger point is that looking down our noses at MBAs is silly. A LOT of startups would have been saved if the CEO understood financial instruments, cash flow, GM, Ebita, etc on day 1.

Because the people in this thread are hypocrites and need work computers, search, cellphones, and TVs. Don't be fooled- these clowns' convictions extend as far as their convenience. Losers, all of them.

Pick a small corner to win. Then move to a slightly larger corner. Specificity is a strength; the market you choose will be plenty big enough.

Steph is a great player and has had more help than any other modern great player.
Both things can be and ARE true.
The fall-off of his 2-4 is sad for him. But let's not act like Klay, DG, and AW are poverty players. If AD was down against his career averages the way Klay is,
@RooshWilliams
A shooting guard that can't shoot means everything else has to be on point. Not JG fault alone, but a hole at the 2 or 3 from an offensive standpoint makes EVERYONE else's life harder.
Hiring smart/experienced people and telling them what to do is a waste of money.
Hiring smart/experienced people and telling them the outcome you are after is the best time and revenue ROI available.
I can't think of anything with greater spend:value variance in business.
The adage of "if you are still doing all the work you've created a job, not a business" is a disservice to many builders.
First, most builders that I know don't really want to remove themselves & give up control.
Second, what's wrong with creating a job you love for yourself?
@UngradedPapers
@WerderEdESPN
Apparently not, which makes admitting they practice that play a stupid thing to do. I'm fine with the call. But it's on the coach to make sure the players understand about the official having to touch the ball.
@baseball_buj
Doesn't matter. Probably because he wasn't getting the signals from the dugout using an Apple Watch or couldn't review his at bats between innings. He's a cheater. I mean, Dodgers fans have been accusing Altuve w/out evidence for years. Suck it.
@RachCarrell
@hnshah
I find it startling that you are so busy you can't find an hour a month to write an update to the very people who allow your business to exist. No one should be that occupied with their work.
@peatonrobb
I have never - ever- spent a moment thinking about who the best coach of anything is. I have better things to do with my time on this planet
@RooshWilliams
Agreed. It would be nice for one of the other guys to develop into a top ~40 player.
I think something clouding the discourse is the want for Jalen to be one of the "Hits." I still think he has a chance. He's been inarguably better the last few games (small sample). If we

I've never heard anyone that knows basketball call Kobe the best player in the world. If he's on the Wizards he's Bradley Beal.
@sweatystartup
Grew up w/ 3 guys that made MLB, 2 that made NFL, and 2 that made the NBA. No amount of box jumps or club teams by a regular will overcome the massive gap in natural talent, ever. You can work your way to HS varsity or D3 (maybe). You can't work hard and throw 95 MPH.
@blaketho_
@sweatystartup
Cool. Tell that to the 10s (100s?) of thousands who tried hard & never got past 12th grade football. All your hard work wont stand a chance when a kid w/ a lightning bolt for an arm transfers in senior year.
The people you mentioned are world class athletes and always were.

Told me he received 0 emails ever to that Addy.
