@pierredevos Actions have consequences. Our government can hardly bleat about US funding being cut off when it takes a blatantly anti-West stance on issues like Ukraine and Israel. Yet there seems to be an attitude of entitlement.

@PhumlaniMMajozi @CyrilRamaphosa That is so immature and unprofessional. One of the duties of someone involved in government communications should be to monitor and assess the opinions of intelligent critics.

@MbalulaFikile Please explain why you think Trump should take into account the 'painful history of colonialism and apartheid' - 31 years after you came to power. He is seeing South Africa for what it is right now.

@jsteenhuisen So the DA supports this ridiculous defiance of the US, which correctly has identified the major problems in our country? So disappointing. What has happened to meaningful opposition.

@RonaldLamola Hard to believe that our government can be this stupid when it is obvious that the US, the most powerful country in the world, are seeing us for what we are. But we can't read the warning signs.

@HermanMashaba There's no fake news. The US and its likely ambassador know all too well what is going on here.

@CyrilRamaphosa It seems you have learned nothing. With the US and its likely ambassador taking a close look at our country, you double down on policies which are leading us to a very uncomfortable future.

@PhumlaniMMajozi It seems the new ambassador @joelpollak is taking a genuine interest in SA affairs - which means a very uncomfortable ride for our government.

@RexClementine He can be proud of his record. He was especially impressive in leading Sri Lanka to that series win in South Africa.

@RediTlhabi Facts are facts. Don't blame the messenger, blame the ANC for their incredibly destructive policies both at home and in international affairs.

@karynmaughan Trump may have exaggerated (as usual) but there is nothing fake about the fact of the Expropriation Bill, not to mention the BBBEE laws.

@jimmaxcricket Ricky Ponting is too young to have seen Sobers in person. I watched Jacques throughout his career and only saw Sobers for Rest of World in 1970. Jacques was phenomenal but Sobers had an extra dimension of star quality.

@PieterDuToit Trump may have overstated the situation - but we can't escape the reality that Musk is basically right.

@CyrilRamaphosa Donald Trump doesn't read wordy statements. He may have over-stated the situation but the fact is YOU signed that expropriation bill. That - and your anti-West policies - come with a price.

@dailymaverick "Forward-thinking". "Progressive". Are these new ways of describing being completely out of touch with good sense and modern political trends?

@helenzille Of course he knows - and doubtless that's why he supports it. More money in the feeding trough for the connected cadres.
