@ianbakersport It certainly happened 86/87 Ian because Derby won at Bradford and then beat Barnsley the next day. No complaining by Arthur Cox who led his team to promotion to the top division in the May.

Really looking forward to catching up with Curtis again. From Gary Rowett to Paul Warne there should be plenty of Rams stories to tell. And then there’s his other clubs!

So the former Derby County apprentice did rather well during his time in charge of the England men’s team. Well done Lee Carsley. A great reflection on the talent produced at the Rams Academy during the years. Got to be worth a mention!

A former Derby County apprentice Lee Carsley leads England to victory on his managerial debut. Another moment to celebrate for the Rams for someone who’s a great human being. I’m sure the club are reflecting this.

So just remind me. The administrators and the football authorities both said he was a suitable candidate to own the club. Fit and proper test(or whatever it’s called these days) not fit for purpose.

@JohnTondeur @bbcburnsy Blimey John that is some innings. You were really kind and helpful to me 40 years ago when I was just starting out with Radio Derby. You did a pre match piece with me at the Baseball Ground. Grimsby won🙄. All the best.

@Oldskoolawayday Think it was an early kick off. We travelled in Alex Trelinski’s Ford Cortina. The bonnet came up on the M1 motorway! The rest of the journey was done at snails pace!

@ianbakersport Well said Ian. Blues fans might remember the last time they tried this when they sacked Gary Rowett to employ a big name. That worked well! Eusty seemed to be doing a fine job. Rooney is a gamble. Couldn’t lose at Derby as it was a basket case. Owners🙄

@mattsandoz1 Not particularly local to you but Hillside in Derby are well renowned. We have one of theirs and it’s great. Hope you’re well Matt.

Another former Ram achieves managerial success. Lee Carsley leading England’s Under 21’s to Euro glory. His story is fascinating. First day in Derby he’s dropped off at his digs to find out the hosts aren’t at home and doesn’t have any money to phone. Watch his ‘Meets’ on Ramstv

3 ex Rams lead their teams to Wembley success. Rob Edwards had loan spell in 2004. Particularly pleased for Paul Simpson and Darren Moore. Darren could’ve been manager after Lampard scarpered back to Chelsea but Mel went Dutch. Enough said🙄. Simmo deserved Wembley win.

@gfs_17 Yes his career at Derby was blighted by injury. He was a fine player. And yes it was good to chat when we were all at sea! Onwards and upwards for the Rams.
