@Tegwyn777 Try rearing it in captivity. Looks like it only needs another moult before it'll b mature. If not, you can always revisit the site when it's 'in season'.

@andydouglas1967 @BritishSpiders Yes, the two enlarged bobbles make it Savignia frontata.

@andydouglas1967 @BritishSpiders Yes, Pelecopsis parallela - likes dry, short-turf open ground. The raised spots on the carapace are very useful as only Lophomma and Pelecopsis have them in UK Linys.

@andydouglas1967 @BritishSpiders The photo on the SRS is of an average example with lateral darkening on the femurs (not seen this lateral femur darkening in rurestris specimens, so a good pointer to look for in females). The scape of rurestris is usually more pinched-in in the middle, compared with fuscipalpa.

@andydouglas1967 @BritishSpiders Very variable - seen them with pale yellow legs (like rurestris), smudgy dark femurs and almost uniformly dark legs. Some pale females require the 'eye of faith' to ID! You can get both species in the same sample too 😱

Cofnod #RecordOfTheWeek is this dinky fungus Holly Parachute (Marasmius hudsonii), recorded by TonyC at Carmel. Can you find & record this species? Old Holly leaves on the ground. @DiscovertheWild
