Did you know that Maxim wasn't the only early silencer manufacturer? This 1914 drawing from Hopkins & Allen shows a "false muzzle" for the "Noiseless" variant of their 922 single shot rifle.

Last Call! Head to the link to back our funded! project to reprint the original volumes of ARMAX. This 1917 Winchester poster was the cover image for Volume V and happens to be one of the rarest known Winchester posters.

The Liberator Shotgun stands as one of Winchester's more unusual projects. Similar in concept to the Liberator pistol of WWII fame, the four barrel shotgun was meant to be an inexpensive firearm to equip those without firearms already. It was even briefly considered as a commercial firearm, but was never put into production for either use. Here are nearly all of the museum's together in a group! By the by, if you like obscure chapters in small arms history remember that the reprint project for the 1987-1996 run of Armax is still live at

Winchester made nearly 175 million rounds of 7.62x54r during WWI and this set of tools and gauges was the master reference set for the whole contract.
